  1. :lol:My dd (16) is crack up right now!! She is constantly quoting movies...
  2. We 'adopted' a piano from a friend this past summer. My husband and a friend borrowed a trailer from a neighbor, and they moved it. It did have to be tuned...I think that is recommended when you have a big move like that. But it was an old piano, sounds like the one you are acquiring, and I really didn't want (or have much) to invest in it. So, I'd recommend rounding up a few friends and doing it yourself!
  3. We use this, and it works well. My brother said that he read in a Consumers Report it was rated at the top!
  4. My dd11 loves crafts (Klutz included). Her older sister (at that age) received a 'Petal People' craft book made by Klutz, and they both have expanded on that in a big way. She has a large box full of pipe cleaners, small wooded beads, wire, embroidery floss, etc. She is always designing some new fairy or creature. She does have a loom for making beaded bracelets also from Klutz, but it is really difficult to use. Another thing she has become quite interested in is whittling. She wanted a pocket knife for Christmas, and has been carving and whittling ever since!
  5. oh good Lord, should have looked at your link first!!! I LOVE the soup...obviously I guess:blushing:
  6. I call this dump soup because I dump everything in the pot and I am done! 1 can drained, rinsed black beans 1 can corn 1 can drained, rinsed chicken 1 can refried beans 1 c salsa 2 c chicken broth
  7. How exciting (and inspiring??!!) for your daughter! Thanks for sharing! I will pass these on to my daughter (she also loves his books!)
  8. This sounds like my kids! :001_smile: I was going to ask where you purchased your feed? That is where I have gotten chicks too - I had to pre-order them, and could pick the variety I wanted. Good luck! I hope they are doing better!
  9. I'm a bit jealous...I'm in Michigan, and no snow. Waaay too warm for it. Wonder if winter will ever come this year???
  10. My FIL is a rule breaker. I am not sure if it is a power thing, a selfish thing...or what. I feel like when I am abiding by rules, whether posted in a public place, or understood (like not walking through the neighbors yard without consent), it is a show of respect.
  11. I quit watching a couple of seasons ago. I love to see the challenges, and I love to see the before and after pictures, but I can't handle the drama. I even felt like the trainers were getting more dramatic as well - when it first started they were not as involved - only in the workout part, am I imagining that?
  12. Yummy stuff! I got hooked after I bought it to make a baklava recipe. We now buy it in a double pack from Costco! :)
  13. I go by how they feel. If they feel up to getting out, then by all means! The fresh air and sun do wonders!
  14. I complain and argue with him about way too many stupid things...This is what I am thinking as I read what everyone has written. My Dh supports me in every way. All I have to do is say it, and if he can do it, he does. I should do this more for him. Occasionally he will write notes to me. He is in a haiku stage right now! :tongue_smilie:
  15. I do have a bachelors of science degree, however it is not in education. My 13 yr old ds asked me the other day what made me qualified to teach?? (Had to sit on my hands so I would not strangle him) I will have to share this with him...
  16. I have never bought that much at a time, but a while back I did purchase a bunch of small bags at the store that were clearanced...we are slowly working through them, and they are good still...hope that helps.
  17. This is better than my 3rd grader! Her spelling is pretty rough. We are just transitioning from her dictating to me, then copying what I've written. So, I'd say he did pretty well!
  18. My dad is doing this to me now too! My dh bought him a box of garbage bags and told him next time to put the items in the bag, set the bag at curb, and we will have it picked up! (Dh was only half joking!)
  19. I don't like it. I wouldn't do it. But please, spend tax payer dollars to legislate this?? Good grief.
  20. WHat!! Why?? I LOVE crystallized honey!! I buy it in large amounts so that I can have it crystallized! :001_smile: It is soooo good mixed with plain yogurt, spread on toast...or if I want something sweet...just by the spoonful!
  21. We've been married almost 19 years. We don't have a scheduled date night, but we do as much as we can together. Our kids are older, so we are able to leave them home alone. Our outings may be as mundane as grocery shopping, or taking a vehicle to the repair shop (seems to be happening far too often these days), or it may be (nicer!) going to dinner, or out for a walk. I think that it is important to remember that we are more than just parents. The kids will grow up and go away, and we will be left to ourselves! Plus, I love the flirting and playing part :001_smile:
  22. My 8 yr old prefers baths to showers for the very reason that whatever toy she happens to be playing with she can take with her. As long as it doesn't have stickers, paper etc., it gets wet! :)
  23. I started weight lifting about 2 years ago. I love the way it has made me so conscious of how my body moves...I am not sure if I am describing that correctly? Maybe a better description would be to say I like the control I feel in my body. Even in just the little things...like reaching for a heavy box on a high shelf, or reaching way out for something, and feeling my core strength. I have also noticed that my posture is better than before. I have not read the book you mentioned. I will have to put a hold on it at the library!
