I found it frustrating when we were done with GSWL to try and find a curriculum that would pick up where that left off. He ended up having to review a lot because every book teaches in slightly different order.

I should also mention I'm looking for a series that he can stick with to master Spanish through his high school years. I know William Linney also wrote "Getting Started with Spanish," but I'm concerned that it's only one book. Then we'd have to find a good book to transition to when we're done with the first one. I'd prefer to stick with one series.

My 7th grade boy has been doing Latin for 3 years (GSWL for 1st year, then we split up Big Book 1 over the last two years), but he's pushing to start learning Spanish instead of continuing on with Big Book 2. Any recommendations?? GSWL was a great format for him. He picked it up really quickly. If there's anything similar for Spanish, I'd love to know! Thanks!

Thank you. I'm looking at the daily geography books and they do have a teacher's edition. So I'm confused as I've never used them before. Maybe there's more than one kind? I'm looking at 4th and 6th grades..

I realize this is an old post, but do you feel that you need the teacher's edition to go with the books or are they quite self-explanatory and easy to correct? Thanks!

My son has finished both the Island and Town MCT series. Now I'm looking at purchasing the Voyage series. I noticed on the MCT website that the new edition just came out last year. Usually I try to purchase used since the MCT curriculum is so pricey. I emailed them to find out what changes were made between the 2007 and 2016 editions and this was their reply: Everything was updated.We changed so many things and cleaned up so many errors that we simply destroyed and recycled the old edition. We do not recommend their use. Are any of you familiar with the new and old editions? Is this really true or just trying to get me to buy new? Did any of you notice serious errors in the 2007 edition? I'm really curious about this now. Thanks for your help!

We also split E into 2 days. I like that it requires the student to use a vocabulary word from his word list in the responses that don't have a vocab word in the question.

TXPilgrim, I've been wondering about this too a bit. I'm planning to use ELTL 4 twice a week and W&R Fable twice a week with my 5th grader. Once Fable is done, we'll up ELTL to 4 times a week to finish it. What do you think of that schedule?

My son will be a 5th grader this year (10) and we've already done Getting Started with Latin so I know that some of the first book will be review so that might help us to move through it a bit faster. We do a 4 day school week so we would probably just skip the day of review that you did on day 5. I'm trying to be careful not to overwhelm him with too much. Thanks for all of your help!

Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how you scheduled Lively Latin Big Book 1. Did you stretch it over two years? Would it be too light/pace too slow if I did? Thanks for your help!

I should also mention that we're working our way through Sentence Island and Practice Island (MCT) but I haven't seen any diagramming in the Island level yet even though we do identify parts of speech/parts of a sentence in Practice Island. If I continue into the MCT Town series, will that make up for the missing pieces in Fable?

I'm still trying to complete my plans for this Fall for my son who will be a 5th grader... He will complete ELTL 3 this Spring and I've already been planning to use Fable this Fall. I know that Fable doesn't include diagramming but I'm not sure that we should do ELTL 4 and Fable simultaneously since they might overlap too much. Can anyone help me who's familiar with these curriculums? Or if I should use Fable with a separate book just for diagramming, what do you recommend? Anything else I should know? Thanks so much!
