New question- Which mask for lab situation?
TrulySusan replied to I talk to the trees's topic in The Chat Board
Are you sure the facility won’t be providing masks? My DD recently participated in research at her university and before beginning, she had to take the mask they provided and have it tested. It was really interesting and involved spraying something in a bag that was over her head to see if she smelled it or not. They didn’t like the original mask and changed it to another one during testing. Then, they had the supervising professor order more of that kind of mask so they would be available to her later. -
I love mine too!

Wearing white to a funeral--is that allowed?
TrulySusan replied to Harriet Vane's topic in The Chat Board
What you have would be perfectly acceptable where I live- I think it’s going to depend on where you are in the US. -
Getting the vaccine after you’ve had covid
TrulySusan replied to Toocrazy!!'s topic in The Chat Board
DH works in healthcare and anecdotally, people in his office who have had covid react worst to the first shot while people who haven’t had covid are having a harder time with the second dose. Nobody he knows has had a severe reaction to either, but their opinion on which dose is worse seems to correspond to whether they’ve had covid already. -
kids and Covid - vaccine on the horizon for them at all?
TrulySusan replied to ktgrok's topic in The Chat Board
Our city has a major research university. A doctor was recently interviewed for the news and suggested the quickest way to have your child vaccinated would be to enroll them in a vaccine trial. If my kids were younger, I would definitely consider it.(They are all old enough for the adult vaccine.) -
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome -stretch marks on DS's back?
TrulySusan replied to IfIOnly's topic in The Chat Board
Both of my sons had stretch marks on their backs that were fairly alarming the first time I saw them. One was mildly overweight as a young teen but the other is super thin. Neither have EDS. -
Oh, and if by some chance they really didn’t know, this will be the wake up call they need to find a mechanic who knows what he’s doing.

I think you should force them to make it right- whatever that means to your family, or drag their name through the mud on every form of social media you can find. And maybe your local news station, if they do one of those “on your side” type segments. There is no way they didn’t know what they were selling to you.

And, if you are able, write a review with your pictures for other unsuspecting shoppers.

If you hate it, send it back. You won’t change your mind, so better to only be out the $8. At least you won’t see it sitting around unused and bothering you on a daily basis.

Is This New or Did I Just Never Notice It Before?
TrulySusan replied to JumpyTheFrog's topic in The Chat Board
Our local news anchors started doing it maybe a year or so ago. First it was one person, but now they almost all do it. It makes it almost unbearable to listen to them. -
Also, she is very popular with kids who miss their dogs. They like to visit for some quality dog time 😂

We let dd get a dog in high school and it has been a great decision. She did take it to college, and is now a junior. She obviously lives off campus, but has made several great friends because of conversations that began while walking the dog. As a kid with some social anxiety, I truly believe the dog has helped her meet people and get outside for some fresh air once in a while. I will add that we dogsit during finals week so she has more study time. ( Her school is only about 3 hours away)

Forestry. Wildlife ecology and management . Look through majors at your nearest ag school- it’s amazing the things they offer. DDs school even has a “soil” major 😂.

We have these too! I just bought them a few weeks ago from Costco where the price is way better. They may even still be on sale. I really love them so far!

One other thought- don’t bother with the prime wardrobe option. Just be sure the jeans you want to try offer free returns. Most will. Wardrobe option doesn’t give nearly as much time before you have to send back the items.

Look on Amazon. I found several pairs of nice jeans for my son to start college in. It was great because we could return anything he didn’t like for free. His favorite pairs ended up being the Buffalo David brand, which were on sale for about $43. They are very stretchy and he ended up sizing down in the waist as recommended in the reviews. eta- several are on sale for cyber Monday!

Recipes/ways to cook an eye of the round that isn't chewy!
TrulySusan replied to mlktwins's topic in The Chat Board
I use the Pampered Chef deep covered baker. It doesn’t have to be that pan, but to give you an idea. A Dutch oven style would work, or probably a 9x13 with foil over the top if you had to. No water- it creates a ton of juice on its own (so don’t use a super shallow dish). -

TrulySusan replied to mlktwins's topic in The Chat Board
This is my ds favorite meal. Marinate the eye of round roast overnight in Italian dressing, about half a bottle. Season generously with lemon pepper and one packet of Lipton onion soup mix. Cover and Cook in oven at 250 F for 4 hours. -
Jewelry box? And check the wallet again. When I lose things, they are usually where I thought and just got overlooked on the first try.

Our town has a grocery store with lights that affect me that way. I finally realized they have a slight flicker going on constantly and I think it’s the blinking that gets to me. I don’t shop there anymore, but more than once I had a headache and had to go to bed after shopping there.(Both times involved having to look hard to find a product, so that I was stationary and focusing my vision In one area more than average.)

The least common multiple of the numbers you listed is 1800. Now, just divide 1800 by the number of items to see how many boxes you need. So, packs of 50 combs would be 1800/50=36 boxes and so on. Im guessing that’s way more bags than you want to make 😂

I’m not really sure if that was specific to our mortgage company, state, or whatever, but definitely had to sign it last week.
