If they don’t cry sometimes, you’re doing it wrong! 😂 That was a cool activity and it sounds like you are a great teacher and mom. Someday it will be a funny story you get to tell to their partners and kids!

DH has blood in his urine at almost every doctor visit for over 20 years. He has had it worked up twice, including cystoscopy, and nothing ever diagnosed. It’s just a weird thing about him, possibly related to running. While it’s definitely good to get it checked, it may very well be nothing at all. Good luck!

When they finally tell the story, please remember your friends at the Hive. 😂

Do big and tall men wear regular size men’s socks?
TrulySusan replied to TrulySusan's topic in The Chat Board
Thanks, it was a specific pair I saw that would be perfect for this person, except for the size -
Do big and tall men wear regular size men’s socks?
TrulySusan replied to TrulySusan's topic in The Chat Board
Thanks for the input- the fun themed socks don’t come in extended sizes and you all are confirming what I thought- he is probably too big for this gift. Everyone in our house is short, so I appreciate advice from the tall people 😂 -
I would like to give fun men’s socks to someone as a gift. He is probably 6’4” ish and not skinny. Can I buy regular men’s socks or will they probably be too small? I can’t ask him, so if you all think they won’t fit, I will get something else.

My kids always enjoyed the Knoxville Zoo when we visited family. They had these cool wax machines that would build a zoo animal while you watched. And great animal exhibits too 😂- especially black bears

s/o: Retiring vs Back to Work: What about Dad?
TrulySusan replied to regentrude's topic in The Chat Board
My youngest graduates high school this year. I have gone back to school with the plan to go back to work after I graduate this summer. My DH, who is nearly 20 years older, plans to retire about a year after I re enter the work force. I think we are both looking forward to it. He is great at house stuff and a super chef and will be great in that role. He’s also exhausted from his high demand medical job. The money will work out ok because we have saved a lot for retirement- my job is more for insurance than anything else. -
My mom has green eyes that are a kind of light green, like sage. The only emerald green eyes I have personally seen had some help from colored contacts 😂

Another AP Government Poll Favor... :)
TrulySusan replied to TheAttachedMama's topic in The Chat Board
I wish my son was doing projects like this his AP government class! I didn’t have a problem with his questions, but did notice that while most age categories spanned 10 years, he had 30-49 lumped together- all us old people look the same 😂 Just mentioning in case it helps him before his teacher grades it. Good luck to him! -
When I went to Germany, I took clear waterproof shoe covers I bought on Amazon. They went over my regular shoes and worked great- it rained for the first 11 days but my feet stayed dry. Probably not the most fashionable, but they did the trick and I had the comfort of my regular shoes. Easier to pack too! eta- we walked about 8 miles a day, mostly cities, some trails but nothing rugged.

You’re not helping 😂

I’m not sure any of them have a bike, but if they do, it would be perfect for bike storage. 4 bikes could fit in with no trouble at all.

Exactly why we need to fill that space with something ASAP 😂

Deep South, so probably won’t need so much as a jacket before November 😂. I like the gaming room idea, not sure if there are outlets in there or not.

We moved ds into his college dorm this weekend and were surprised to find an enormous storage closet in the dorm suite. The setup for the dorm is 4 guys each with a private bedroom, 2 sharing a bathroom, and all 4 sharing a kitchen/living room area. None of them have more stuff than will fit in their own space. But….. there is this huge wasted space and I know the hive aunties will have creative ideas for using it. There is no shelving, and nothing allowed to be nailed/screwed into the walls. I would estimate the space is maybe 8-10 feet wide and 4-5 feet deep, and has 2 big doors that open outward. Sorry I don’t have pictures. So, what fun or useful thing could happen here?

Oh, and sadly I don’t think there is a way to keep it on your snowballs. It’s just part of the charm.

I saw a shirt once that said glitter is the herpes of the craft world. 😂

Call your local rescue and see if they could use the food. If they decline because of the ants, you can throw it away without guilt. 😃

Pillow Recommendations for a Side Sleeper?
TrulySusan replied to Jean in Newcastle's topic in The Chat Board
I have a Leesa pillow. It’s more than I have ever paid for a pillow before, but it is so much better than any other pillow I have had. I even travel with it 😂 Mine came from Pottery Barn but you can get it other places too. https://www.potterybarn.com/m/products/leesa-pillow/ eta- I have had it about 3 years and it has held its shape. -
Chest pain and fatigue, what else do I need to consider?
TrulySusan replied to Ann.without.an.e's topic in The Chat Board
First, I would want to be sure you really trust that it’s not a heart problem. As in, ED doctors are not always the best. But, if your heart is fine, it could be a herniated disc in your neck or back. A neurologist/neurosurgeon or orthopedic doctor could diagnose, probably with exam and mri. Hope you feel better soon. -
I had my post Covid first haircut this week too- so happy to have short hair again. 😊

I would decide on different things from month to month as new ideas and needs became apparent to me. Today, I would donate to a new charity I just heard of for the first time- The Purple Leash Project. I think it’s sponsored by Purina, and it helps women escape domestic violence situations with their pets. Apparently most dv shelters don’t accept pets and many people trying to get out of a violent situation won’t leave without their animal. Last week, it was charities in India helping with Covid medical needs and vaccines. Next week, who knows? https://www.purina.com/about-purina/purple-leash-project/about

New question- Which mask for lab situation?
TrulySusan replied to I talk to the trees's topic in The Chat Board
Maybe so- our family was quite entertained by her re-telling of getting the mask. Like a visit to Olivanders for science kids 😂
