  2. Disappointing thoughts to start the today. This would probably be last year of trick or treating for my children. I can already guess that my daughter’s closest friend will carry on as usual, given the sleepover invites we have already declined. Just one more thing.
  3. I know this is a Fl thread, but I don’t think of these beach trips as a safe outdoor activity. I figure most people shop and eat and call that their beach trip. Who thought a 90 person high school trip from Oh to SC was a good idea? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.today.com/today/amp/tdna184995
  4. Also in Ohio, Forty childcare centers, not the one with the above outbreak, are suing Dr. Acton, former state health director, for reducing the class size and impacting business rights.
  5. In Ohio, Quarter of the students and half of the staff tests positive. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wdtn.com/news/local-news/dayton-day-care-center-shuts-down-after-covid-19-outbreak/amp/
  6. I’m guessing naughts and crosses is known as tic tac toe in US. You have a much better name. I love this board. I learn so much from you.
  7. We will wait with one child. At the moment it would only be cosmetic reasons anyways. The other child is supposed to have a consult for wisdom teeth removal but the dentist wasn’t sure the surgeon would remove them now. I don’t know if I should wait then.
  8. If I return to work, it will involve rented portapotties. I can wipe down handle and seat, if provided wipes. I just don’t know about the risk of infection from matter already inside the seat. likewise, I’d love to hike more and camp locally, but the proximity of other people, watershed characteristics, etc make this a not great area for cat holes.
  9. Question because no one knows the answer and I'm tired of guessing alone. Should we have concerns using a portapotty/ pit toilet?
  10. My library has several adult online classes from book clubs to craft topics. Maybe your area has some digital offerings?
  11. Testing in SW Ohio should increase soon, since we are now the area of OH with rapidly increasing rates. There are new testing centers opening and the media is really encouraging people to use them. My family is social distancing except for dh going to work. I need to make decisions about my return to work in a child care environment. Some of the parents are expressing thoughts that do not take the virus seriously, rejecting increased cleaning procedures and use of masks, and disagree with social distancing. I don’t know what to do.
  12. An area high school just announced a positive diagnosis on their football team that has been practicing together for a couple weeks.
  13. What grade level would you say the adapted version is at?
  14. Does anyone have plans? We are at home this year instead of camping up north, sigh. We will be watching the live feed on Facebook from Stone Henge. I think it starts 11 tonight eastern daylight time. Tomorrow we might have a campfire in backyard. It doesn’t feel appealing with 90 weather.

  16. Yes, hence a violin here has been untouched for three months.
  17. I hike and would camp alone. If I had a kayak, I could see using it someone else was nearby like your son on the jet ski. Thank you for the pictures, I love your state very much.
  18. Under my bed is 1 box for gift bag storage and 3 boxes for quilt/blankets. My kids keep their comforters in their closets for summer. I have a linen closet for sheets and towels. ps. Do your kids ever need to change sheets in the middle of the night? Around here there is always a bloody nose or illness or spilled water. I was so frustrated caring for a relative that only believed in one set of sheets. I don’t know if sheets were exorbitantly expensive back in her day. I’m sorry in today’s world of cheap fabric there was no need to be stressed about accidents or spills on the one set of sheets and then need to stay in the living room chair until the bed could be remade.

For dh’s job, I think employees have to have own transportation to get onto military base. Essential project traveling will start soon. Neither of us are comfortable, employees discussing cross county drive together vs flying. I just wish they would cancel but out of the hands of people at our level.

Dh has been in his office on a military base. They have some employees working from home which gave essential project people more space in each cube at work. They stopped eating in break room. If a person is eating at own desk in the office, he takes the mask off for the break and coworkers don’t interrupt. Most people are eating in their cars. It’s hot but since I have an outdoor job I know they can handle 30 minutes of real weather.
  21. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’d just have them try on shoes and check the fit. I find variations between brands so not all my shoes are the same label size.
  22. I also read Atlantic monthly while living with my parents and enjoy it occasionally now. I’m not sure Ds age 14 would appreciate it as much. I might try for a library copy first, once the library reopens.
  23. I'm trying to decide on a subscription for current news events for high school age. When I was that age I enjoyed Time Magazine after they were no longer needed in an office waiting room of my parent's employer. It's been a few years since I read a Time but it felt more pop culture entertainment than I remembered from my past. Or do you have a favorite newspaper instead? We do not have cable so tv news is limited.
  24. UPDATE: Resident cat ate kibble during the night last night and had normal canned food serving this morning. I'm relieved. My oldest child had a much easier time with a sibling's birth than this cat is having so far.
