  1. Thanks so much! Did you use the 2nd edition? I think the review questions at the beginning of the RS lessons were good for DS. Is there a way to add spiral review to Math Mammoth?
  2. DS finished RSC 2nd Ed last year and I'm having the hardest time getting D done this year. I have a new baby and just less time to teach math this year. (and admittedly less interest in teaching it as well) I'm wondering if anyone has advice about switching to Math Mammoth?
  3. https://www.explorelearning.com/ Does anyone have experience with this website? It looks like a promising way to add in some extra science and math labs. I emailed the company to find out the cost for full access and haven't heard back from them yet. I also signed up for a free trial but I'm unable to access the Exploration Sheet Answer Key. I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong, lol. ...Check out a sample "gizmo" below (click on the graphic to "launch the gizmo" aka...do the lab). https://www.explorelearning.com/index.cfm?method=cResource.dspDetail&resourceID=615
  4. I was looking at the sequence of instruction on the website and there is something called "teacher led lessons" ...can anyone elaborate on this? Would I need to teach the typing lessons or can I just let my kids go? .....first column in the "36 week sequence of instruction" here: https://www.hwtears.com/kwt/free-demo/samples/2 Thanks!
  5. Thanks for all of the ideas and thoughts. I stumbled upon this website and might try and integrate some of the activities: https://www.explorelearning.com
  6. The I see Sam hooks helped us with fluency more than anything else we did
  7. What are your plans for implementing Mystery Science? Wing it? Lol..... Or...do you have a schedule worked up? How do you see it working in your homeschool?
  8. We used the I See Sam books to bridge the fluency gap between AAR 1 and 2. :-)
  9. Does the KOLA deal include brain pop and brain pop jr? Is that why it says brain pop "combo"?
  10. March? Ug. Bummer. For some reason I was thinking that it was in September. Thanks for letting me know!
  11. Thanks Jackie :-) The second edition that we are using has a new level e thrown in see attachment) so level G wouldn't be until 7th grade. :-/ I'm not sure what the content is, I wish I knew if it would be a problem or not. THanks for the ideas Garga, it's good to know that it can be done ;-)
  12. Somehow we got behind in math....I think mostly because I'm paranoid and wasn't sure if material was mastered in level C so we did lot's of review. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and had a little panic attack that DS is a full year behind in math :-( ...Is schooling over the summer the best way to catch up? Other suggestions? We are using the 2nd edition and will likely use Video Text after Level G.
  13. I Googled it, they are almost the same:http://www.howtogeek.com/187663/openoffice-vs.-libreoffice-whats-the-difference-and-which-should-you-use/ Thank you!!
  14. Sigh....we got a new laptop and I can find my Microsoft Office disk....grrrrrrr...lol. Isn't there something similar that I remember reading about that is free?
  15. Cool, thanks! I've been wanting to buy this book :-)
  16. I've been looking for a program like this FOR.EV.ER. Thank you soon much! I'll gladly pay the 100 bucks for a year's subscription, LOL. We never do Science because I can't seem to get my act together for it. Thank you so much!
  17. We've only done RS a-c I wonder if it ever teaches the standard algorithm in future levels. Hm. I agree that it depends on the numbers. Thanks!
  18. When the kids do subtraction problems on paper in Singapore they go right to left, but mentally it is left to right. Is that correct?
  19. Just curious how Singapore teaches it. RS does left to right...it's not really coming naturally to DS so I'm considering my options. TIA :-)
