  1. Stumbled upon while looking at gifts to start a collection of elements for DS17… MANHATTAN PROJECT SHIELD WINDOW FRAGMENT I am sorely tempted to get it.
  2. Every time I have back-ordered items from LEGO (probably half a dozen times?), they have arrived before the site states. About three weeks ago, I pre-ordered a set that said it wouldn’t arrive until after January. Afterward I saw it updated the product page for December. It shipped a few days later and arrived a week after I ordered it. LOL I think they put worst case scenario dates for back-orders so that people aren’t disappointed if they miss the mark.
  3. I have never refrigerated a pumpkin pie. Not my mother either, or hers before her. LOL Enjoy your pie!
  4. LOL As a military wife, not having the ability to unpack and settle in could be disastrous! Your DH sounds like a really nice guy, Lecka.
  5. This behavior is wrong in so many ways. Two really bother me though. The idea that families wouldn’t let any new foods in is a slap in the face to in-laws of every generation. It’s like a big you are not one of us to those not born into the family. What an individual family enjoys as Thanksgiving tradition varies, of course. When a marriage occurs, the new member of the family will almost surely have something from their family of origin that makes the day special for them, something they want to pass on as tradition to their children. What a weird reaction it is to be offended by the differences and not welcome, much less allow, the food to be at Thanksgiving. The other thing is that a host/hostess is supposed to be concerned with the feelings and comfort of their guests. In this situation, I see all of your extended family, not just your mom, as the hosts of Thanksgiving, at least to your DH and kids. Behavior and words that makes guests feel unwelcome is the antithesis of good hosting behavior.
  6. I love pencils and just stumbled on this lovely collection in a great box. I bought one for my stocking… There is also this set of pencils from around the world. Intriguing. Might get it too. Package isn’t as cute. LOL
  7. Having or adding? Because she’s talking about adding, and I agree with her that none to one was the hardest. I joked to DH after our third and last that most people quit just when they really start to know what they’re doing. At that point, I felt like adding more was relatively easy compared to going from none to one and then one to two. Having? I don’t know. It’s probably different at different stages, I think.
  8. Yes! Extraordinary exhaustion was how I knew I was pregnant with number three. I didn’t even need a pregnancy test. I told DH that I was either pregnant or I was dying. Think of rest as time spent directly caring for your fourth baby.
  9. This exact slow feeder, although this one looks like it would slow a dog down even more.
  10. relish and veggie trays to munch on mulled cider on the stove smoked turkey stuffing mashed potatoes and gravy cranberry sauce green beans corn casserole sweet potato casserole rolls pumpkin and pecan pie
  11. I will admit to feeling like this too. People have no idea. They think they do, but they are wrong. LOL I have felt like this once or twice…
  12. Santa puts things like this in my stocking. Blackwing and Lyra natural cedar pencils.
  13. Hey now, Randy Rainbow is doing his best!
  14. King Arthur is good stuff, my preferred flour of all types.
  15. Any updates? Can’t stop thinking about your dd…
  16. Apparently vomiting will help food poisoning "pretty much never."
  17. I just deleted because I didn't look it up before I posted. But that's rotten. Poor thing. I would be worried though. Food can look fine and be dangerous. Three weeks is...ugh.
