  1. Dishwasher Magic! Amazon sells it. I havent' found it local to me but haven't looked far and wide. I have been having similar problem. Using dishwasher magic once a month has worked well, and using the vinegar in a cup turned upright on the top rack when I start the dishwasher.
  2. I'm near you.. I feel your pain. Day trips are my answer. Can I sneak you over a fan? Do you have electricity?
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/Saeco-Spidem-Villa-Espresso-Machine-Black_W0QQitemZ260550513476QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSmall_Kitchen_Appliances_US?hash=item3caa055344 This is the closest to our machine. Ours is the Saeco Deluxe. Ours was a refurbished model. We've had it for 5 years with no problems- just starting our 6th year. One year we were gifted money and told to buy something we'd never buy for ourself. I like it because it's literally push a button. We do add fresh water daily just because I don't like the thought of using water that's been sitting out all day. It's easy to maintain- washes up easily. We buy the beans at the local grocery. They carry an organic brand that is cheaper than Starbucks beans. We get our syrups at Walmart.
  4. As a mom that did wait.. or rather purposely had him repeat K. It was because HE needed it. I don't know if that is a trend but even the school said that K is the new first grade. They are expected to do so much. My boy just.was.not.ready emotionally to move on so we had him repeat K. He has an end of April b-day. So, he'll be 8 by the end of first grade. No worries here. FWIW. We have 4 boys (older 2 were home educated during some of the middle school years and we'll like do the same with the younger 2) and he was the only one we felt the need to "redshirt". It wasn't about sports or excelling to us but about giving him time to mature and settle into public school and all it encompasses.
  5. She lives in our area so I've followed her blog on occasion. She does lots of trading for coupons and has gotten to know managers well enough at some stores that when things go on sale they will order her mega amounts so she really stocks up. She also takes coupons of things in stores that she doesn't purchase, those sticky peely coupons. It's just a personal issue for me but I have a hard time taking those. Also she does lots and lots of online reward sites, ebates, She puts a lot of hours into her efforts. Which I am sure is very rewarding for her but not everyone has that much time. I've gleaned a few great things from her site but leave the rest.
  6. I do medical transcription from my home and have for 12 years. I've been contracted directly with the doctor's offices as well as with a small company. Currently, I'm doing the latter using an internet based platform. The best resources for looking into medical transcription at home are mtjobs.com mtchat.com (click on their forum link) mtstars.com I hope it is okay to post those here. The pros are I can work around the kids/dh/etc. I have a very flexible schedule. I'm at home. I can work in my jammies if need be at odd hours. The cons are it is hard to get experience and find a company to work with if you don't have at-home experience. It's really a catch-22 for many people just getting into the field. Also I'm self-employed so I pay my own taxes. Medical transcription is becoming less needed with the new electronic medical records. There are still many many jobs but the need will decline as technology advances...voice recognition software, etc.
