  1. My SILs first engagement she was given a family heirloom ring. It was her fiance's grandmother's ring. The agreement was that if they didn't get married and it was because of his infidelity that she could keep the ring, any other reason and she would have to give it back. They broke up (different religious beliefs that just didn't mesh) and she returned the ring. My MIL told me she had some heirloom jewelry that she would give me but if we got divorced she wanted it back. This was about a week after we were married. :glare: She never gave me any jewelry and at that point I wouldn't have accepted it anyway.
  2. They should have renter's insurance, very important since the owner's policy only covers the structure not the content. I'd call around to insurance companies though and see what they say.
  3. Looks like 4 (thanks for the info about Ballotpedia). I know that there is another specific to our county about keeping the 1 cent SPLOST (special purpose local option sales tax). They always threaten to raise the millage rate if that one goes away. The money goes to the county public schools.
  4. Season 2 was just as bad. I binge watched that and was so mad at the outcome.
  5. I read it and would also say no. She doesn't go into detail but it's enough that I wouldn't want a younger teen reading it.
  6. :grouphug: I'm so sorry for your loss.
  7. Garbage man would kill me. My sense of smell is really strong. I would be gagging all day long.
  8. Ours has the stars as bonus not required for black belt. I think it's a way to keep some kids engaged. Mine have earned stars & patches over the years and I have never even put them on the uniform.
  9. We get yearly financial statements for the people we bought this house from. For the first 1-2 years I would write "Moved return to sender" and yet the stuff keeps coming. So we just toss it now.
  10. I'm in the NW suburbs of Atlanta. We had no gas at many of the gas stations earlier in the week (although the RaceTrac somehow had gas). By yesterday only one tiny gas station didn't have any gas. Everyone is around $2.39 now.
  11. :grouphug: He sounds like a lovely man. So sorry for your loss. :grouphug:
  12. I did this at my last job (before kids). You could always ask for a trial period of 1-2 months and then meet with boss after the trial period to discuss if it's working for all parties.
  13. I just started it too. Hoping to help my teen with her moods.
  14. I agree with the vehicle thing. Too many crazies out there. Our HOA regulations allow for political signs but only 30 days before the election (can't ban them via federal law). I have only seen signs for 1 candidate and usually those yards have multiple of that person's signs.
  15. It really depends on the weather. Some places in October are getting snow & bad weather. It may be fine where you are but if the plane has to come from somewhere else you could be delayed. I'd fly in the night before just to be safe.
  16. :grouphug: I'm sure they'll be fine. I sent my older two off last weekend from GA to LA with our church to help clean up after the flood. I was worried about them getting hurt or exposed to toxic mold. They came back in one piece.
  17. I must be tired. I read that as Kevin Bacon. Nice to meet you Kevin.
  18. :grouphug: I am so sorry for your loss. :grouphug:
  19. I did the scratch test in the office and it was horrible. The nurse even commented that she'd never seen someone react as quickly as I had. I can't imagine having to wait three days!
  20. I had a D&C outpatient for a missed miscarriage that cost more than the 2 day hospital stay for the birth of a child.
