  1. I used to only go every 3-4 days and then go 3-4 times that day. I started eating prunes every day. That usually does the trick. I also try to remember to take my fiber drink. It has probiotics & other stuff in there.
  2. I would leave the soffit white, paint the window trim white, and add a nice backsplash.
  3. My kid's high school does everything online. I have a log-in to see all of her assignments (upcoming and completed). I have it set up to send me notices as soon as anything is entered into the system. I have been able to catch early a couple of issues on her grades (a couple of her not doing her best work and a couple of incorrect grades). She has never brought any graded papers home so the online system is the only way I can see grades.
  4. I was called during finals week for graduate school. I sent back for a deferral and let them know that I was moving out of the county the next month. I was called for a grand jury but sent back for a deferral since I was nursing an infant, same with my local county but a different child. The last time I was called, I could have asked for a deferral but I went in. We had to go in every day for a week but I was never selected to be on a jury.
  5. I did with #1 because I needed an episiotomy (long story, was medically necessary). I knew immediately because of that. Took forever for the midwife to stitch me up. I did have a small fistula when I went in for my 6 week apt. She used a styptic pen on me in the office. That hurt more than birth. Had a small tear with #2 that the midwife mentioned offhanded that she wasn't going to do any stitches. Had a doc deliver #3 and he put in a couple of stitches. None with #4 or 5.
  6. Love it! Have you seen the crochet border that is elephants?
  7. Parent has to have high school diploma or equivalent. Tutors need a BS or equivalent.
  8. I'm the only one in the house who can hear Laurel. It's very clearly Laurel.
  9. I'm ready to try knitting socks. I have yarn & needles. I have been looking at patterns on ravelry and borrowed a couple of books from the library. I found one pattern that is knit toe up with an afterthought heel. Would that be a good one to start with? I want to do something simple for the first pair. Thoughts, suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated.
  10. The kids saw it Sat and we went last night. I try to live a spoiler-free life so I didn't know it was supposed to be 2 movies. I'm not a Marvel nerd so I didn't recognize the Captain Marvel logo at the end. ? It was a good action movie. I think they have the same problem that other movies & shows have when they make the villain super powerful. What I've learned about the Captain Marvel character is that she is super powerful and could have stopped Thanos. That begs the question of where has she been during all of the other disasters that occurred in the past movies. Hopefully, they will address this in her movie coming out next year. I agree with the others who think that Dr. Strange did something to the time stone before handing it over to Thanos.
  11. Run it with white vinegar and see if that helps.
  12. I don't think you will ever have a good relationship with someone who gaslights.
  13. I try to use surface roads as much as I can. People are crazy on our highways.
  14. We got a pair for my DD from Amazon.
  15. My mom's first orthopedic surgeon had the attitude that she was too young for hip replacement. I made her get a second opinion. He said that she needed the surgery now. Why be in pain and wait until you were older and less mobile. I saw her x-rays. It was bad! She had bone-on-bone and the ball was completely flat. She had both hips replaced about 6 months apart. She said she didn't realize how much pain she was in until the first one was done. She's doing great almost 20 years post surgery.
  16. Somehow I got exposed to it a couple of weeks ago cleaning the cypress branches off the driveway. I am very sensitive to it. Thankfully it didn't' spread as badly as last time. DH is immune and so far the kids seem to be immune as well. We have a hillside in the backyard that I can't weed because it's full of poison ivy.
  17. Thanks everyone. She did think that using headphones may help. The lunch room is very small and the sound for her is very loud. There are only a few weeks of school left so she'll just cope the best she can. She did mention punching them to get them to stop. She was kidding, I hope. These boys know that it annoys the kids in there but don't care. Personally, I find this a form of bullying and our school system prides themself on their anti-bullying program. I'll let her decide if she wants me to escalate it or not.
  18. Good luck! Hopefully his lawyer will be able to talk sense into him because you're giving him a great offer.
  19. Thanks for sharing. I think the biggest problem we have is that our prisons are set up for punishment and not as much thought for rehabilitation.
  20. My 15 yo is at the public high school this year. She's having a new issue at lunch. About a week ago, some of the boys downloaded an app that plays this very annoying tone. She has asked them to stop playing it and they refused. She talked to the lunch monitor/teacher in charge. Unfortunately, it's one of those sounds that only young people can hear so they won't do anything about it. The problem is that it's giving her a headache. What is the next step/what would you do?
