  1. http://www.padfield.com Has a very good selection of bible studies that both children can use and it's free.
  2. Would anyone be willing to share the "How" you actually implement the history part of WTM for 7th grade (late renaissance/early modern period). I've read the section in the new edition of TWTM and still need some assistance in putting it all together in a weekly schedule. Thanks for any assistance!
  3. This is a wonderful and gentle little book that I've used this year with my seven year old daughter. The lessons are short and therefore fit nicely with the Charlotte Mason style of teaching. We plan on using the next book - Intermediate Language Lessons (ILL). Sometimes, the seemingly outdated books are the best.
  4. Here's a recipe I use that has no smell and it works: 5-6 tablespoons coconut oil 1/4 cup baking soda 1/4 cup arrowroot Mix well and put in a container.
  5. I haven't tried this, but it looks interesting: http://www.khanacademy.org/
  6. I searched "Salsa Spanish" in Discovery Streaming (GA) and it came right up.
  7. Linda Fay offers a great homeschooling program and schedule that is AO inspired: http://higherupandfurtherin.blogspot.com/2006/01/our-curriculum.html
  8. Ditto for us, too. If anything, Latin has enhanced my son's Spanish learning capabilities.
  9. http://www.padfield.com/downloads/curriculum.html An excellent source for a bible study I use with my 6 and 12 year old.
  10. We used this program with my fifth grader and spread it out over a year and a half. The last few chapters are more advanced grammar concepts so we put those aside for later. If I had to do over, I would actually begin this program at 7th grade and continue on with it through 8th. It fits very nicely with the Charlotte Mason concept in that the lessons can be broken down into smaller portions. And I agree with the others in that this program is rich in English language history, so you get more than just grammar.

  12. My 11 year old son memorized Psalm 40:1-10 last semester and has started on Psalm 111:1-10 for the second half of the year. My 5 year old daughter is working on Psalm 67. My younger one hears her older brother working on his memorization verses and she can now recite a portion of his. Regards, Denise
