  1. Yes, World Vision is a good charity as well. I would trust either of those groups.
  2. The worst thing I ever got trick or treating as a kid was a package of instant mashed potato mix. I remember we were so excited because we could tell it was something big they had put in our sacks, but mashed potatoes were not exactly high on the list of favorite Halloween food!
  3. And you can also grow in height way past menarche also, my cycles started at 13 or 14 and then I proceeded to grow 5 inches taller in high school!
  4. Usually if you have a blood clot in your leg, the pain is in the calf. That doesn't mean it isn't possible but I would think it unlikely. Hope you get it figured out soon and that it is nothing!
  5. That is awful! I am sure they have received many complaints but I wonder if they plan to do anything or just leave it alone. I can't live with this, so if they can't figure it out quickly I guess I will head over to gmail.
  6. It is very annoying! And, it hurts people's feelings because they think I am choosing not to respond, and I think I have responded but they just didn't get it!
  7. Thanks Susan. Does the natural thyroid have a brand name that I can look up? And with a half life so short, do you take it more than once a day?
  8. No, my problem is that they just aren't sending at all. I turned on the sent mail option so I can check and see what actually sends, and there are lots of missing messages. Plus I check with my sister and she is just not getting them. About half are sending and the other half just disappear! I really don't want a new email address but this could cause real issues!
  9. Do you know what scale yours is on? If it is the same as I used that is very interesting!I probably need to look into this a bit more.
  10. A couple weeks ago Yahoo updated their email program. I have had lots of problems ever since, but the biggest one is that only about half of my emails are actually being sent. I have no idea why and don't know how to fix it, but if this continues I will have to switch email providers and I have had this address for probably 15 years! Anyone else having this issue?
  11. They almost always have at least a few fun things offered on Cyber Monday. Never dolls though, at least that I am aware of. I don't think I have seen them have a Black Friday sale.
  12. Thank you all so much! What an amazing list of ideas. We currently don't have access to a library and also can't get magazines but once we are back in the US I will be finding her lots of these options!
  13. My 7 and 10 year old are at about lesson 85 of the Old Testament class. They still like it but I don't think they love it like they used to. They used to ask to do it and usually now I have to ask them to do it. I think it might be nice spread out a bit so that they don't do it every single day.
  14. Well, I have wondered about that. If I continue to just let her pick she will never read any literature. I suppose as she gets older she could show more interest, but if she doesn't, well then she will still be reading Nat Geo Kids when she is in high school! Any ideas for a nice start into literature that might interest a non-fiction girl? I am thinking we may have to even read it together for a while and see if that gets her started.
  15. Thank you for the insight and ideas. It is very foreign to me as I am the exact opposite kind of reader as is her older brother. But I want to help her love to read so I am willing to hunt down what she likes!
  16. She prefers to read things like National Geographic Kids books, things that have little snippets of information all over the page. I need to get her reading a longer book but have not wanted to force it and make her hate reading! Any suggestions? She loves the Nat Geo Almanac, Shel Silverstein poetry books, and short non fiction stories like the level 4 and 5 readers. Thanks!
  17. Thanks to all, I will slowly but surely figure out what is going on! Any and all thoughts appreciated.
  18. We added our father in law as an official user of the account, so we can send him a check or we can have money automatically deposited into the account. Is there possibly a bank he could use in Japan that also has a US branch? Our situation may be a little different in that we get paid in the US and then have to figure out how to get it to us, he has the opposite problem!
  19. I live overseas and have student loan payments. I put money in a US bank account and set it up for the payments to come out automatically so I didn't have to mess with it every month. Much easier and one less thing for me to have to think of every month.
  20. Well, I live in a developing country and had to order the lab tests myself. So, I thought I got TSH but it somehow got left off the list. So, I will go in and have that done as well, is there anything else I should be asking for? My blood sugar was normal, as well as B12. I will have them check estrogen/progesterone, could you tell me if there is a specific test or is it just general hormone levels? I thought I should ask about ferritin as well.
  21. We are moving to Georgia in March, so in the middle of a school year. Does anyone know when I need to declare something to the state?
  22. Yes, all PT programs are now at the doctorate level, so he would need an undergrad degree plus a 3 year DPT program. But itis a great profession with lots of variety of settings if decides to pursue it! PTs and PTAs are both in high demand with lots of job openings in most locations.
  23. I don't know what my TSH is but I could get it tested. I would have said no to the sleep apnea but my husband did tell me the other night that I was making funny snore, gaspy sounds in my sleep, so maybe?
  24. I have never been diagnosed with a thyroid issue, I just have a lot of the symptoms. I got some labwork done, my free T3 is 2.6 on a 1.5-4.1 scale and my free T4 is 1.31 on a 0.7-1.80 scale. So, they both look right in the middle of the range. Is it still possible that with the T3 being a little towards the low end of the scale that I could still be having symptoms? And if so, would Armour thyroid be recommended? Any other input would be great, I am just sick of feeling tired all. the. time. thanks, Nicole
