  1. Hello all! My name is Kim Jenkins and I am starting a new Classical Conversations co-op site in Buckeye, AZ. If you're interested in finding out more about it please message me! Sincerely, Kim
  2. I actually bought mine at Target in California when we were visiting Disneyland so I'm positive that they are legal. My oldest daughter never needed one but my second daughter, and now my son, was a very strong willed toddler that wanted nothing to do with holding anyone's hand yet insisted on walking whenever she had the chance...so why deal with the headache? They are able to walk and I can keep them from wandering off or getting injured...win/win!
  3. We use it for eczema and in place of diaper cream. It cleared up an INSANE yeast rash on my son that neither nystatin or lotramin had been able to clear up! I'm a believer! I always mean to cook with it but forget...but I have a jar in the pantry!
  4. My DD5 seems to be stuck on learning her letter sounds. We're doing PR1. My question is, do I just move ahead assuming that at some point, with practical use, it's going to click? We've been at this for 7 weeks now and we've just started week 4. She has finally just about mastered the alphabet but so far the letter teams aren't sticking. I've watched ahead and it seems like Ms. Beers does alot of hand holding at first to help them put the words together...DH thinks I should move on and she'll get it. I go back and forth....has anyone successfully done that?
  5. I've never been, but I know a few people who really like Pink Jeep tours...they do tours in the valley and Sedona from what I understand.
  6. Yes, I'm from California and now live in Arizona. In my little town in CA people always stopped and in my little town in AZ they do too.
  7. With DD8 my husband called EVERYBODY when I was being admitted and I ended up having my MIL show up and sneak in the room and to the foot end of the bed during delivery!!! I didn't even realize she was in the room until the nurses sat me up to push and I was looking right into the face of my MIL!!!! I was so upset! Now we don't call anyone until after, except for those watching the kids. I had a good friend tell me that her husband always tells people, "you weren't there when they went in, you don't need to be there when they come out!" that cracks me up!
  8. On a sharper note, you could say something like, "Homeschooling requires talent, dedication, and perserverance that many parents are lacking. It certainly is not for everyone." Oh my gosh! I LOVE that!!!
  9. :iagree: I'm new to homeschooling and actually pulled my kids from a private school that my husband is the president of! Yikes! I've been running through a mine field ever since. What I've learned to do is ignore the people who are lashing out at me for no apparent reason, I mean, they don't know why I pulled them, and they don't have to deal with the work or outcome...so what's it to them?!?! I just keep reminding myself that I know I'm doing what's best for my kids and that's that!! I'm refuse to subject myself to the rediculous high school style attacks people like that love to launch at us. Personally, I think that they feel a little convicted that they aren't quite as invested in their own children's future. Not that everyone who puts their kids in school isn't invested, but most of them wouldn't ever dream of pulling their kids from school because it would inconvenience them. Hey, I was looking forward to dropping two off and heading to the gym for a few hours every day this year too, but my kids needed me so here I am. You're a great Mom, keep fighting the fight for your kids futures and ignore the idiots on the side of the road!!!! :D
