  1. THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE!!! The tips, book suggestions and websites are really apperciated!!! And it does seem to be a wide range of costs depending on what program you use. We will be on the low end if we go this route but it's good to know that I can get everythig I need without spending a ton. Our library isn't that helpful but i am going to try to mine every resource they have. Haven't read Well Trained Mind. I just found this site so I will have to put the book on the list. :) Hunter- You sound like a great mom. Your story reminds me a lot of my mom. I am sure your kids will look back on everything you did as a single mom for them and be so thankful for having such a wonderful mom. :) Thanks again guys!!! :grouphug:
  2. Thinking about homeschooling and have bought some books. Seeing the lists on the sale board of all this material people have bought makes me scared because it seems like a lot of money. So I am wondering what you spend yearly to home school? What has been the most you spent in a year and why? And what is the most reasonable range that I will probably spend homeschooling a 1st grader. Library isn't great where I live so much of the material will have to be bought. Thanks.
  3. Thanks guys!!! That really helps. I am finding it all a bit confusing. :)
  4. Hi. I am new and interested in teaching my 5 year old Singapore Math. There seems to be a ton of books out there and I am lost. I don't have a ton of money so I would love to only get the books that I would have to have in order to teach him. We looked at the K books at a friends house and he seems to be beyond those at this point. So I am interested in starting with the 1A. I don't think I would need the answer keys. Would I need the teachers book, intensive practice, workbooks and text books? I think I read on the sale board that there are US, California and other state additions? That might be wrong. So you can see I am all over the place. I am looking for someone to say you need these 5 books and you will be good for teaching level 1. Thanks so much for any replies. I am new to this all but look forward to learning a lot. :)
