  1. Read good books, make money, travel with husband, pay off debt if you have any. That's what I'd do.
  2. I think I rethink things every two months lol. Once winter comes I usually decided to do a lapbook or two. I don't know why, but once January hits it's lapbook time. My kids love it! I'm over that by the end of February. Right now we are taking a Beast/MM vacation to work on a c-rods book about perimeter & area and cement some fraction skills.
  3. Editing because I realize I might have broke a rule.... This is not how tipping is "supposed" to work in America.
  4. Personally I would let it go. It doesn't sound like you get together all that often. I have several family members who are more into monologues than conversations. I fulfill my obligations to remain in contact and they are family but I know I'll never be close to them. My father has always been like this. My grandfather is currently really bad but for him it is his deteriorating hearing. Oh! And I'm not saying you should let it go. I'm just saying that letting it go has worked best for me. I know having big talks about it or worrying over interactions would upset me.
  5. I would not have it some place without a bathroom! I think bathrooms are a necessity.
  6. These are my predictions! Oldest: you're the best, thank you! Sistersssss momma's giving us coooookies!!!! Middle: yes Little: can I have 3?
  7. You could access gmail through the browser instead of the app. Don't save your password to the browser. I am fairly certain there is no way to lock a phone from answering calls. You could create a password to access the phone. But when someone calls you don't need the passcode to answer.
  8. I really like Christmas music but my kids are obsessed! It is constant around here.
  9. I don't/won't be making my child dissect anything, though She does stay in the room.
  10. With Spotify you each get your own login. As long as you trust her not to access the music you don't want that would work. You could also login in as her to check up on her and what she is listening to.
  11. When my 7 year old finishes before her sisters she bakes and then cleans up the mess.
  12. We do chocolate coins in their shoes and a game. Money is tight so I got Qwixx which has turned out to be a quick fun dice game. Youngest is loving it.
  13. I would let him practice music all he wants, but cut your time actively teaching him to a 1/2 an hour. That's already a lot of one on one time spent on music if you do it daily. I also wouldn't feel a need to do more than an hour or two of science/history a week.
  14. My oldest loves Harry Potter. She is also into all thing Rick Riordan, Redwall, Neil Gaiman's kid books, and Mythology. She loves the D'aulaires and the National Geographic illustrated myths. Oh and she liked Ember but never got to the sequels.
  15. The only ones my girls have thought listenable have been the school house rock videos.
  16. My church is casual. I watch toddlers during the second service and wear activewear pants most of the time. Either yoga pants or those tight capris. To meet the president my clothing choices would depend on where I was meeting him.
  17. We take cash or check. First couple who rented usually paid cash and would drop it off. Current renter mails in a check.
  18. I think it depends on the kid. My oldest two were very competent at 5yos keeping a daily journal of 2-3 sentences. They would ask for spelling help sometime but are both pretty good naturally. They needed to learn that they could write something and it didn't have to be perfect all the time. My youngest is an awful speller though. She takes after me! I do have her write her own sentences, but I end up helping with spelling. She on the other hand writes loads more than her sisters in her free time. She makes cookbooks constantly, has a song notebook, writes tons of lists, and recently started a spell book about Harry Potter. It's all spelled horribly but is adorable.
  19. We reheat on the stovetop most of the time. I don't own a toaster oven. My mother has a toaster oven and it's pretty awesome! If we had more space I would get one.
  20. We pay them for big projects. Basically I hire them for certain tasks. These usually come up infrequently. Washing the car, picking up sticks, doing all the laundry after getting home from vacation. Day to day stuff they just have to get done.
  21. My daughter also left her retainer at Disney World. More specifically Holliwood Studios at the SciFi drive in! The server found it in the garbage and ran it through the cleaner. It came back HOT! We just had her put it right in. Lol I would totally wash it and be good to go.
  22. For some reason it's the pouty face that bothers me. I would be able to let the boyfriend kissing in a photo go. I just can't forgive Duckface! That's my bias.
  23. My husband and I have veggie tacos. (Leftovers) 2 kids have chicken noodle soup. 1 kid ate hard boiled egg whites. We always have salad or crudités on the table.
  24. I love narration, dictation, and copy work. I find all three very helpful with my elementary age girls. Since you're daughter is a junior though I would do IEW. I think it is the best option in your situation. It is easy to follow and will give her a framework to use when writing for school. The IEW podcasts are very helpful in understanding how it all works.
