I have actually had no career other than being sahm. We were 19 and 20 when we got married, and started with our family a year later. I've had some part time positions here and there, but I've mostly stayed home.
It's about 30 minutes aside from what we do specifically for school. With 3 kids 5 and under, the time gets split up quite a bit between, "Mommy, I'm hungry," "Mommy, I need to go potty," and "Mommy! She's touching me!!"
You get the idea. :)
I chose math because everything else can be readily found in a library, though books, at museums, experiences, etc. And because I'm terrible at math myself, so I wouldn't even know where to start with out a curriculum.
Our take home is about $4000/month, and we're ok. There's a lot of stuff we could cut back on (eating out is ridiculous...bad, bad habit), but we are seriously leaps and bounds beyond where we were a few years ago. DH also just started doing freelancing, but we don't count on that income. It's just extra that goes into savings.
You poor thing! I'm so sorry. :(
Get some good B vitamins...like B12 or B6, and high doses of vitamin D. Buy from a health foods store as opposed to like Walgreens or CVS. Flaxseed oil is great, too.
Huge hugs!
Mine normally trusts me to make the decisions since I actually have time to research everything, but he may voice a little complaint here or there. It's more of an 'ug, kids are expensive' type of thing, than the actual spending money, though.
I don't really have any advice, I can just commiserate. We will be starting in the fall, just my kids are a little younger than yours. My DD and DS sound like the same dynamic, though. DD is very structured, DS couldn't care less...must be a birth order thing. :)
