  1. I understand this so much. I had an opportunity fall into my lap and switch/moved up jobs right after Thanksgiving. This job is so much better for my body and while it gives me so much more I miss the days of being able to enjoy, relax and go at my own pace for the holidays. Truth be told, I think my teens actually miss me and what I usually do for the holidays based I what they said.
  2. This is how I do mine- I make a salt crust ( sea salt, rosemary and avocado oil), blend until a nice paste. Score the meat and apply the salt crust. Put it in the oven at 400 for 15-20 minutes. Then drop to 200 for 6 hours ( depends on roast size). Half of the house doesn’t eat it unless no pink so this way the ends are a perfect not dried out well done and the rest of the roast is perfect for the other half. Plus, you can reheat the leftovers to your desired temp and they are not dried out.
  3. HR need to own up for their mistake. Check with your bank and see if they offer a discount for vision/dental. Ours does and we are buying our vision through them ( the plan offered through DH’s work pays only for an exam and I pay more in premiums than that).
  4. .We are seeing amazing results with it at work. Only one dog didn’t respond to it well. It has been used in Europe for several years before it got approved here. I am strongly considering it for my elderly dachshund as the usual medications for her are no longer working well and will bring it up with her vet once she is due for her shots. I have no hesitation using it with my own pets when needed. Disclamier- I am working with a vet who is more on the holistic side and he is happy with what he is seeing. One negative that you need to consider is that it is a monthly shot at the vet.
  5. For an example- we had one come into work last week that just had a biopsy, X-rays, bloodwork and something else. The bill was over 2000 and their pet insurance paid 500.
  6. I wasn’t impressed with the Speed Queen. It was too small for me ( couldn’t wash my king quilt in it) and when I looked, the parts for it were not as available as I would like. So I bought a Samsung over 10 years ago. I absolutely love it. It has lasted me a good long time and is only now only starting to need to be replaced due to lots of use/wear tear. I find the Samsung easy to repair ( much easier than the LG I had before this). The other brand I would buy is Meile. Neighbor has one and I like it when I use it when I am helping her out. Check the parts availability and if you are not mechanically inclined, check the repair people in your area. Some will not service Speed Queen.
  7. The same reasons I stopped shopping with them. And even if they screw up but the item is not returnable, they don’t refund. Like the shirt I bought for DD that was not adult sized but was child sized. But was listed as brand unknown and adult. When I got it, it was a very well known children’s brand.
  8. As a pet sitter, tips are always appreciated. The best gift I ever got from one of my clients was this thoughtout beautiful card from the dogs perspective telling me how much they appreciate me and all I do. I still have it as it was just so beautiful.
  9. And this is why I have an email just for junk/shopping/spam/etc. It is worth having to check two emails.
  10. Perhaps see if you can sell them as hunter’s land ( not sure the correct real estate term). They buy these to use a few times during the hunting season and that is it. They know they can’t really do much with it but it does sell as it. These types pop up often on a land for sale group I am on and go fast.
  11. The two I know who took it recently had mixed results. Both are healthy adults and one takes care of their elderly parent. They went to urgent care yesterday to confirm what they had and the physician prescribed it for them. Both have had Covid before. The male noticed not one single difference taking it and the female says it made her worse. Her PCP says it is not working on the new strains and only prescribes it in certain cases and he wouldn’t have for her.
  12. I cut them every year and they bloom spectacular each year. Same with my friend who has the most gorgeous hydrangeas I have ever seen. Just give a feeding if fertilizer in the spring.
  13. My good friend and neighbor got me one from Urban Stems as a thank you. I was a lucky recipient for 3 months of really fresh and fantastic quality flowers. These were nicer than flowers from Trader Joe’s ( they usually have some of the nicer grocery store flowers around here).
  14. Most of us do have regrets for not trying medications when they were needed. If I were in yours shoes, I would try it. It can also help your child’s progress with therapy as some can make more progress with medication and changing up medications.
  15. I use it when they are showing signs of stress/illness or when a new one comes into our home. Most arba people ( those who show Guinea pigs and rabbits) do as they can go from fine to extremely sick in a short period of time. For us- it helped our one guinea pig get through the night until when the vet opened in the morning.
  16. Benebac is wonderful. Everyone should keep someone their home especially if they have Guinea pigs/rabbits.
  17. There are many viruses running around now. But I would bring a stool sample and get the pup tested for parasites. Along with regular blood tests to see what is going on.
  18. It may have a sensor on that setting that doesn’t dry it completely. A lot of dryers come with this sensor and not everyone likes that dang sensor.
  19. We do cookies, cakes and other goodies on the grill. Use the top rack and rotate often. If you don’t have a top rack, put a metal or foil pan in the grill upside down and put the cookie sheet or cake pan on top of it.
  20. Slightly off topic but for those unwanted gifts- the best use if them I have ever heard of was a school making a gift closet with them. It had a high poverty level and they turned those unwanted gifts into something the kids could “purchase” for a gift for their families. I wish I could find that article but it talked about how this was successful and how much the kids loved it.
  21. I am positive that there are birch trees in heaven. Why, because they need birch beer for those who want the delicious treat. 😃
  22. I cook a lot on the grill. Everything can be cooked on it and most of it is a piece of cake. You just have to watch it slightly more than an oven. If the dish is oven safe, it can go on the grill. I usually can do stuffing in a disposable pan. You may need to add a little broth as it cooks depending on the temperature you are cooking with. Sweet potatoes go on whole and they cook beautifully. Let them go a bit longer and you can basically have mashed sweet potatoes. I give them a tiny coat of avocado oil before putting them on the grill. If you need to do a pie or cake or brownies, they come out well. I put them on when most things about about half way done.
