  1. Your pregnant? <----- rhetorical :) <insert facepalm smilie here> never mind about the wine! Perhaps yoga could help?
  2. Regular exercise and lots of wine :tongue_smilie:
  3. I did wonder how they would do this. It seems like it would be impossible to officially do the adoption papers the day of the wedding. Maybe they are going to sign paperwork to officially get the adoption process started, idk. Since beginning this post and reflecting on the responses I think you are right, it would be best to give her a gift commemorating the wedding and being part of a new family. I like the idea of initials too but perhaps something with initials would be more appropriate after she is officially adopted and her name changes.
  4. I believe it has been discussed but the date was left ambiguous. Honestly I am not exactly sure of this.
  5. Yes it certainly is! A couple years ago she was "so happy she finally had a dad" and this sentiment hasn't changed. At first it was a little disconcerting to dh and I because we weren't sure if BIL's relationship was that serious but now that is definitely no longer a concern. SJ
  6. I'm not exactly sure either. I think they will be signing the papers the day of the wedding. SJ
  7. My BIL will be getting married next month to a wonderful woman with a 13yo dd. They planning on surprising the dd with adoption papers and the wedding will be a way to unite the family as one. We would like like to get our niece (she is already a part of the family) a special gift for the occasion. We were thinking of getting her this or something like it. We are just unsure of the engraving - hence the poll. Our ideas are (for the front): 1. United With Love 2. United In Love 3. United By Love On the back we plan to put the date of the wedding. Thanks for your input! SJ
  8. I was regularly getting hot flashes at night about a week before my period. Once I started exercising regularly last spring it has stopped. I agree with the PP that regular exercise can help!
  9. Should I see my own avatar?
  10. Hi everyone! I have been a long time lurker here (maybe a year?). A few months ago I signed up for a username because I thought I had a helpful hint for someone who had permanent black marker on their kitchen counter courtesy of their child :) . I didn't realize it would take a few days for the account to go through so I didn't get to share my hint: if you go over permanent marker with a dry erase marker it will wipe cleanly away. Back to my intro - I have two little boys (almost 7 and 5). My oldest attends a once a week program for homeschoolers at a local charter school that teaches language arts (Spalding WRTR and Shurley Grammar) as well as specials. He attended this program last year for three half days and we were very happy with it. At home we focus on the three r's with FLL1, WWE1, ETC, SM, and WRTR. We also have SOTW and BSFOU that I hope to slowly add into our day. To those who are wondering 'Why lurk for so long?' perhaps adding 'she must be a troll!!!' - I've never posted because I don't really find I have much to add to the conversations in addition to what has already been said. Except for the marker on the counter situation and a thread today that I PM'd instead. That is my LONG way of saying hi :seeya: and thanks everyone for all the great ideas. SJ
