  1. I've been looking at My Father's World for my 2nd grader and would love to hear from others who use it. Pros? Cons?
  2. I've noticed quite a few great homeschooling resources on Netflix instant view. My kids are loving Creatures that Defy Evolution, all 3 of them are on Netflix. So, I thought this would be a good topic to list all the good resources to be found on Netflix instant view :)
  3. Would love for raw milk to be sold off the farm! This is important to us because we have family who own a raw milk dairy and sell raw milk here in Texas.
  4. I'd also love to find one, so I'm posting/subscribing to this topic to help keep track of it :)
  5. I'm in Central Texas, between Hillsboro and Waco.
  6. We are looking to connect with local homeschoolers in Waco/Central Texas area. We are actually closer to Hillsboro/Whitney area. There are no homeschooling groups in our area, so I'm starting to expand the search to include Waco (LOL!). Would really love to find a some-what local group to meet with.
  7. if you're one Facebook, there's a group on here called Homeschool Buy/Sale/Trade.
  8. Thank you so much for this thread! My youngest (2nd grade) is left handed and blind in his right eye. He has such issues with printing and writing. He's always wanting to start at the bottom. In the past, we've use HWT and he ALWAYS wants to start at the bottom. I'm going to be checking out these links!
  9. I'm considering using MOH 1 with my 2nd grader this year. How do users like it? How is it compared to the Story of the World? I have the audio CD's for SOTW 1, but have heard good and bad things about it. If I have the CD's do I need the student text if I choose to use SOTW?
  10. My parents use to constantly tell me that my oldest son was fine and that I just spoiled him. They are both special ed teachers, which was really frustrating because they always acted like they knew better. Then my oldest was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, they suddenly hushed up and starting back peddling. They felt really bad because they didn't recognize his learning problems as being caused by a disability. They just wanted to try to justify the fact that they disagreed with us homeschooling. Now, thankfully, they see how well he has done, we just graduated him :)
