  6. Saxon is great, Singapore is really good, Rightstart math is good and so is MUS. I am not crazy about the MCP but it is still good, as long as your child enjoys and is not getting bored. Their basics are all good. It's sad we cant go out and just let children try them all before we buy. (lol) nancyt.
  7. Hi, I have found great book lists of the classics, on ambleside online, and on an old fashioned homeschool. They both use alot of classic literature. nancyt.

  13. HI, IMHO. I think for the most part doing Classical at home is like CM. Classical schools are very structured, and CM is layed back. I do the same things as the classical schools, but in the CM style. It is very refreshing. nancyt.

  16. I like both MUS and Math Mammoth,my dd knows how to add on paper, but when you ask her orally, she can never remember, we are in third grade,I figured if she is going to be doing it on paper, and knows it, then I will just let her be. Of course her favorite subject is NOT math. lol, nancyt.
  17. I would praise the Lord for taking her out early. The closeness and bond that happens in homeschooling is awesome. They can also experience a new baby, and be there to help mom. God bless, nancyt.
  18. My daughter has gotten very negative, she started this around 8, she will be 9 in june, It seems like nothing I use in the homeschooling area is good enough. complain complain complain. 20. I really like Handwriting without tears, and A reason for handwriting. It is just a personal decision. They are all pretty good just a little different style in the writing itself. BOy's sometimes have problems in their writing. SO what would help him to be most neat and accurate. hth God bless, nancyt.
  21. I think it is a personal preference, I love the Veritas Press Cards, how you can hang pegs on the learning, and have lots of books of choice to choose to go along with it. I love SOTW 2, however, it does not have enought "christian" "Reformation" stuff for me, but it is still good. I love TOG it is great, but very expensive to get all the books, and they weren't in my library. But I would say they are all great. It would definately be a personal preference on how you want it taught to your children. GOd bless, nancyt.
  22. I really like a reason for handwriting, it is colorful and does not take alot of time. nancyt.
