  1. My boys read and reread the Redwall Series. Not sure if it's as appealing to girls though.
  2. Happy Anniversary, Amy! :grouphug: Melissa :grouphug: Off to church, the boys are getting their "Steadfast Awards" this morning. They have achieved Gold Level in our kid's program from 1st thru 6th grades so they get this ginormous trophy!;) Then church picnic afterward AND it's dh's b-day. So, that's pretty much my day!
  3. I am curious about this too. I think I would want the most basic (read cheapest!) one to start with to make sure it's something I'll really use. Which would that be?
  4. Don't have time to read now, but following. I'm upgrading to a new phone next month and have no idea what I'm doing.
  5. I'm a morning person and, during the summer, I naturally wake up between 5 and 5:30. That's about 2-2.5 hours before everyone else. LOVE IT! I put my start my tea, put away any dishes on the counter that weren't put away the night before, start a load of laundry, power up phone and laptop, take tea out on porch to listen to the birds, come back in to do bible study, check email and this is where I get distracted. Ugh! If I could just check it, get off and do the next thing, which should be my morning walk, all would be fine. But, I tend to stay on much longer than I should and then the day gets away from me. I need a big shot of self-discipline in this area!
  6. Wow! My boys are not at all interested in organized sports, this might fill the bill for our P.E. I'm always searching for something and end up doing basically nothing. Love to hear some reviews!:)
  7. Amy, I hope your ds feels better today and enjoy that great-nephew!:) Slow start today: Towels in washer/ need to do master bedroom bedding STILL need to clean Master bathroom window! Get picture taken for new drivers license (yuck!) Downstairs bathrooms (stuff I did not get to yesterday) Spaghetti sauce in crockpot for dinner School planning Hope to watch a little bit of the World Cup today; US plays at noon ( I think)
  8. I'm actually combing these along with Harmony Art Mom's World Geography plans (FREE). Waiting for Trail Guide to arrive in the mail so I can make lesson plans for my rising 7th graders.
  9. Amy, that is just awesome! :hurray: Now, you can really enjoy your visit~!
  10. Congratulations! My husband was actually speechless ( for the first time in the 25 years I had known him) when the tech discovered twins. Triplets would probably have put him in shock!;) It's all good though. Our twins are such a blessing to us.
  11. :grouphug: Lisa :grouphug: I'm exhausted just reading that! Kudos to you for jumping in where angels fear to tread:) Looks like you are adjusting well, love hearing about life in Italy.
  12. Happy 17th birthday, Jean's ds!;) The usual: Laundry, only one load and already going walk (didn't do yesterday, MUST today) meals clean Master Bath window (putting if off because it's hard to reach but it MUST be done) Downstairs baths School planning Kid's program at church ( supposed to do s'mores around a fire pit but looks like rain; we'll do them inside) Dinner: BLT's and fries Yesterday seemed like a hard day for a few of you, hope and pray that today is a better one!!
  13. Oh, how horrible! We must continue to pray for the Lord to intervene for them.
  14. Home from errands, 5yo dgd put her head in the water up to her eyebrows!;) Ha! They are too funny. Next up;lunch and read aloud One more load of laundry to fold School planning I feel like I should be getting something else accomplished, but oh well  .
  15. Leaving at 9 to watch 6 & 5 yo grandchildren's swimming lessons. The 5yo has yet to put her head under water, maybe today's the day!:) Library Quick store stop Work on school planning Dinner: Pancakes, bacon and fruit salad
  16. Praise God!! I've been praying for this woman and her precious family, hoping for the best but not trusting that government to back down. Thank you, Lord!
  17. Master Bedroom windows-done Laundry folded and delegated to be put away; few items in dryer to take care of DS dusted upstairs and down; other one will vacuum upstairs when dh is done working in the office Worked on school planning; lots more to do! Off to get a shower in a few; start dinner and attend meeting Should read chapter from read aloud to boys tonight; never got to it today. hjffkj, thinking of you, please take every opportunity to get rest! Amy, enjoy your trip to Ohio (are you coming thru south central pa?:) Maybe by the time you return, your dh will have heard about a job possibility.
  18. The twins will be 18 when they graduate, May 2020, but will turn 19 in July. I was 17 when I graduated, turned 18 in July.
  19. Thank you, O Elizabeth! I hadn't looked at SWI B thinking it was too $$$. But, $109 for two students is affordable. We did use the US History Based Writing lessons from IEW 2 years ago and they did well with it. I'm thinking they would probably like the dvd aspect of it also. I like the structure, I NEED the structure. :willy_nilly:
  20. Good Morning! Warm and sunny today :coolgleamA: (except my sunglasses broke yesterday, so I guess I'll be squinting until I get new ones) Walk- DONE Laundry- only one load today and it's already in the dryer Meals Routine housework Deep Clean: Master Bedroom/Bath windows School Planning Olympian planning meeting 7pm Dinner: BBQ chicken, brown rice and peas Have a great day!!
  21. I hope it all works out for the best, very exciting though:)
  22. Checking in at the end of the day today. Church Went to minor league baseball game and the boys made out like bandits! They each got a free baseball upon entering, all kids 12 and under (they just made it;) got free hot dog, chips and a drink. E caught a foul ball (now total of 3 baseballs!) and they were chosen to play a game on top of the 3rd baseline dugout and each received a $10 gc to Red Robin! Home now, relaxing on the deck. Although, there appears to be something wrong with dh's cell phone so he's not relaxing;P
  23. Would anyone care to compare/contrast them for me? Pretty please? :willy_nilly: I thought I had decided on WWS and then someone mentioned Jump In by Apologia which also looks appealing to me. My boys love to write their own creative stories, not so jazzed about assigned topics. Teaching writing is not my strong suit so I need something broken down step by step for me and the boys. Would love if they could do it mostly on their own as we are trying to increase their ability to work independently. I just need to make a decision and go with it but I want it to be an informed decision! I would appreciate any and all feedback, thank you!
  24. Prayed for you, hkffjk! Keep us posted if you can.
