  1. We are using LL this year and my dd loves it. I have to laugh because the student binder is quite large and when I suggested she break it down into smaller sets she said that she likes the binder big like that. As far as the two books, we haven't read My Family and Other Animals yet but we loved A Day of Pleasure. Our only complaint - we wanted it to be longer!
  2. Hmm, I never thought of bungee cords to tie my chairs! I have my dgds overnight quite a few nights a week. I have a portable playyard/crib thingie for a crib. We never had any problems with the now 2 1/2 yr old but the 16 mo old, forget it! We found her out of it a few weeks ago and couldn't figure out how she managed it until I watched her the other day - she actually put one foot at the top and used that leg to help pull herself up and then dropped over the side!! I have 4 of my own that were all mischief makers but she tops anything they ever did! I told my dd she is the payback baby!
  3. I second the suggestion to lance the nail. I've had to do that to my son's nail before. A couple of years ago my dd jammed hers at ps and a week later shut the same finger in the car door. Her nail didn't look like that, though. My son is the one that does that all the time. Several years ago he pinched his between a car engine and the inside of the car.
  4. Cool! I asked about this on another thread and totally missed this one!
  5. I'm so glad I found this thread! I picked up the Uglies from the library and couldn't get the next two quick enough for my dd! She just turned 13 on Monday and it's a hard age to pick books for. She loves the Warriors books by Erin Hunter but I've noticed she is slowing down on reading those. Eta: If you want a brief description of a book, B&N is a good site.
  6. I'm glad I found this thread! I have a dgd who will be 3 in Dec and we want to include her in school this fall. I'm currently hsing my dd who will be 13 on Mon. Now if it were just that easy to find something for a 15 mo old to do!
  7. Ladies, I don't feel so alone! I just turned 45 and I only manage about 5 hours sleep a night that is straight through. What about dreams? I've always been a vivid dreamer but this gets ridiculous. I have very "busy" dreams and wake up very tired. I'm also dreaming ones that I had in grade school but at an adult level. I'm constantly dreaming that I need to be somewhere and can't get there. I'm scared to take a nightime med. The one and only time I did (excedrin pm if I remember right) I was up all night!
