Want to come over and delete some e-mail for me? Just kidding, it's not really hurting anyone, it just sits there, really.

  7. Dreamed that sweet, loving DS had transformed overnight into a cantankerous, mouthy teen. Obviously worrying too much about the coming years.

  11. I dreamed of a perfect boxed curriculum where math and spelling and science and geography were taught through games. It cost $250. All I could think about in my dream was why it didn't go past K-6. I must be missing homeschooling more than I thought.

      Chrysalis Academy

LOL! Well, you dreamed it, what are you waiting for? If you build it, we will buy!!

      quark

You were in my dream too Rose and you were testing it and loving it. (Yes, I read this forum too much lol). But I don't remember it enough to recreate it. There were lots of game tiles and lots of colors and vintage illustrations on the tiles.

Calvin and Hobbes would be a huge draw here!

If all else fails, try The Grammar Key! I believe that most kids are not ready to understand grammar at such a young age anyway… which is why I don’t hang out here much anymore. :-P LOL.

  21. Our car dies and when we go to look for a used car to buy, people look at us funny when I explain I really need a car with a CD player. Why? To play and replay our stash of Great Course audio cds!

Some of the newer cars here don't have a CD player! Really! I was so horrified. They have all the bells and whistles but no CD player. So we bought one that has both a CD player and an MP3 thingy. Can I rip my CDs to MP3? I was not sure about that. We don't have laptops with that capability any more. Our laptops are too cheap, just like our car lol.

    3. mathnerd

      mathnerd

buy an external CD drive and plug it into your laptop. then, rip your CDs into MP3s and you can listen on your iPods, phones and car as well: e.g. https://www.amazon.com/SANOXY-External-Combo-CD-RW-Burner/dp/B00LZMPYA8

    1. Cosmos

      Cosmos

Good idea! We have some recordings of little boy voice telling silly stories. I can't even recognize him as the same person. Happy New Year, quark!

    2. FloridaLisa

haha! My boys get such a kick out of hearing their pre-15 voices on video!

    3. quark

      quark

:) Happy New Year Cosmos and Florida Lisa. I asked him to record a message on his phone and now whenever I call him and he doesn't pick up, little kiddo asks me to leave a message. Sigh, I miss that sweet, high-pitched voice so much.
