My grandson found two of his great-grandmother's Country magazines this past week and "read" them over and over again looking for the animal pictures. My neighbor gets several outdoor and hunting magazines so I will ask him if he can spare some of his old ones.

My 2 year old grandson loves books and magazines with lots of animal pictures. I would like to get him a subscription to an animal magazine for young children for Christmas. Any recommendations? Thanks so much!

Well, after 9 years of homeschooling, my youngest has finished her course work and will soon be awarded her high school diploma. Yahoo! I like the candles from Bath and Body Works....White Barn Candles. They are wonderfully fragrant candles and last a long time. Most of the candle burns. My favorites are the cinnamon, coconut lime verbena and pumpkin spice.

My dd used one of their guides about 3 or 4 years ago...I think it was high school level. She liked it OK but prefers Progeny Press. I like Progeny Press better also, but can't exactly tell you why because it has been so long and we don't own the TLP any longer. I don't think there was really anything really wrong with TLP. It's probably like most curricula...you have to actually try it to know whether you like it or not.

That's sweet. How old is your kitty? We have two senior cats....ages 19 1/2 and 18. The 18 year old male surprised us 2 days ago and climbed a tree and went onto the roof of our house. He hasn't done that in several years. The older kitty has some kidney problems, but still can run up and down the stairs and amazes us with a spark of energy here and there. I think they all feel spring in the air.

Definitely visit Casey Jones Village (Casey Jones home, train museum and shops) and eat at The Old Country Store while in the village. The OCS has the best southern cooking all-you-can-eat buffet anywhere! They are located immediately off I-40 at exit 80 south. Kelli has the link to these places in her post. There are many motels/hotels nearby. I also recommend visiting the Parthenon in Nashville. It and the Athena statue inside are full-scale replicas of the original ones in Greece. A little info on three of your choices, however I have not homeschooled in any place other than TN.... Panama City, FL: It is beautiful and warm. You can live away from all the craziness on the busy part of the beach. Sea breezes help allergies not to be so bad. PC is not too far from many nice cities...Pensacola, Tallahassee, Mobile and Montgomery. Goldsboro, NC: We lived in Wilmington, NC for a couple of years. A great place to live and a wonderful beach. Goldsboro is not far from the big city of Raleigh to the north and from the wonderful beaches on the coast. The mountains of NC are some of my most favorite places to visit....absolutely gorgeous. This part of NC has some cold weather, but not much. I would move to NC in a heartbeat. Colorado Springs, CO: I have visited there only once and my brother lived there a couple of years. I loved it and its beauty. I wouldn't like the cold weather or the high cost of living. I have lived on the east coast of NC and GA. Both times I had wonderful relief from my seasonal allergies. I believe that living near the ocean really helps that. Best wishes to you and your family in your decision. And, Go Blue! My dd also served in the AF. My daughter (and I) feel your pain. She wears a 3 1/2 or 4 and a wide width at that. Just like you, she has a horrible time finding shoes! On the other hand, I wear a 10 narrow and also have trouble.

My grandfather's names are James and Harry (called Happy by most everyone).

My dd and I love poetry. When she was younger she especially enjoyed these books: Poem Stew by Cole and Weinhaus, The Hopeful Trout and Other Limericks by Ciardi and Meddaugh and Favorite Poems Old and New edited by Ferris. I guarantee that your children will find many poems in these books that they enjoy reading and memorizing.

Frontline quit working for us a couple of years ago. We now use Advantix for our dogs (for ticks and fleas) and Advantage for our cats. So far so good.

We own two vans...bought them both used....a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan, 93,000+ miles and a 1994 Mercury Villager, 230,000+ miles. The Dodge is pretty good; plenty of room and not too many problems; it's a bit too big for me; an affordable van. The Mercury Villager is the same as a Nissan Quest and has a Nissan engine. It is a smaller van than the Dodge and I have loved it. They quit making it, but I would love to have another. We haven't had many problems with it during the 170,000+ miles that we have owned it. I see a lot of these vans still being driven.

My family calls them tennis shoes....in GA and TN.
