  1. I may have said this before. If you can't sell it, put it on paperback swap. At the least, you'll help someone. At the most, you might find something you want or need.
  2. Thanks for the information. I don't buy many things over the interenet and this is why! I really appreciate your comments!
  3. I am fairly new to this site. I am a willing buyer. I am honest and trust worthy. That said, I am willing to accept that people don't know me so they may not want to sell to me. If you agree to sell to me, however, please keep your word. I keep mine. This has not always been my experience on here. I had one buyer who was more than happy to cash my check but I have yet to receive what I purchased and that was 3-4 weeks ago now. ( We both live in the US so it should have been here by now). I have tried contacting her several times and have yet to get a response although I know she's been on the board. Today, I paid for something only to find out that someone else thought they purchased the same thing. The status of this situation is still yet to be determined. I don't know how people decide who to sell to. I am sure it is different for everyone. I appreciate when sellers have said, sorry I am not selling to you (at least they were honest and upfront). When everything seems agreeable initially and then things start to change after the fact, that makes me weary. At this point, I am not too excited to try to buy anything else on here. Maybe I am alone here? Than again, maybe not. This is just my opinion based on my experiences as of late. Charlene
  4. I am glad I looked into this thread. It's all good food for thought. I have been home schooling for 3 years now. What we do and how we do it changes a little each year. Next year we are trying out Classical Conversation. I am looking forward to it but it will quite different than what we've done in the past.
  5. Body for Life is a lifestyle more than a diet. There's a workout plan as well as a cookbook. Even if you don't buy into the whole plan, you might find the cookbook helpful.
  6. Yeah, I guess because it was suppose to be shipped media mail in the US I figured it should be here by now. I use paperback swap (books, media mail, within the US) and that usually takes about a week. I have asked to be informed when the item has been sent out. Some have done this, some have not.
  7. I am just wondering how long I might have to wait on curriculum I purchased off the sale board? It just seems like 2 weeks is a long time. Am I wrong? If so, what's reasonable? And what can I do if there seems to be a problem? Thanks for the help!
  8. Thanks for the info. I too am new and it's been a little confusing trying to figure out the lingo. I appreciate the help.
  9. So at what point do you become more than just a visitor? I check in here frequently but don't always have time to actually post.
  10. I mean that I will have two kids in CC. I will be a back up tutor for the 5 year old's calss. What Audio CD's are you referring to?
  11. I am just wondering how many of you participate in a Classical Conversation group? We will be starting in one this fall. I'd like to have an idea of who has travelled the road I will be taking. This will be the first year that CC is offered in our town. I am super excited. It's Cycle 3. Tell me, what do I really need to buy? I will be teaching 3rd and k-1.
  12. Do you have a dehydrator or know someone who does? Sounds like a lot of cranberries to me!
  13. I hate to add more bad news to the mix but you might want to limit you sugars. If you are dealing with internal inflammation, sugar is a problem (at least initially). Just a thought. Our 8 year old has been struggling on and off with tummy issues for at least 9 months now. We are trying hard to avoid wheat, sugar and cow's milk so I feel for you.
  14. I like to add it to soups. It kinds of thickens them up and adds lots of good protein. My favorite is a jar of salsa (red or green), a can or two of beans (red, back or white), chicken broth, 1 lb. chicken or ground beef. Once on the table, we might add white cheese or plain yogurt and serve with blue corn chips.
