We've used HWT and one of the things that has really helped is that we use the ABC Teach website for copy work. They have a "tools" section in their member's area that allows you to make custom sheets in the HWT font (many variations such as arrows, rules, outlines, etc). DS (6) and I decide together what we want to write about his day and then he copies the sentences that I had printed out onto HWT lined paper. He then uses those sentences to jumpstart a conversation with his Dad about his day.
This has been a great way for us to have him be more willing to write since he has a vested interest in the content of the sentences. He also has a nice stretch of quality conversation with his Dad each night.
