  1. The program looks interesting, but I can't find enough information or reviews on it. If you're using it, is it a stand alone grammar program, or does it require additional reinforcement? I'm considering it for my 14yo ds who has not enjoyed AG.
  2. For those of you who have followed TWTM History recommendations for high school, how have your 9th graders responded to the Ancient History Great Books readings? My ds will be 14 next year. He is a strong reader and enjoys reading and history, but this year seems like a huge jump in difficulty level. I worry it may be a little dry and weighty for a 14 year old boy. How have your children, especially boys, handled this year?
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure if we're prepared to dedicate that much time to science next year. We may go with the regular high school biology course. . . So many decisions, but what a blessing to have a place like this to turn for advice.
  4. Have any of your kids taken AP Biology in 9th grade or earlier? One of our local universities offers online independent study high school courses. My ds (almost 14) wants to take the AP Biology class from them next year. He is independently motivated, and enjoys science, but he hasn't taken any other AP classes yet. I was just wondering how difficult other kids his age have found the test to be. Any insight would be appreciated.
  5. I have used garlic oil drops with great success for both ear infections and congestion in my dc. You can buy them at health food stores or make your own by heating 2 Tbs. of olive oil with 1 clove crushed garlic. Strain the garlic before placing 2 drops in the ear. HTH
  6. I have the iPad with the Nook and Kindle apps as well as iBooks. I use all three because different e-books are only available on different apps. I love reading on my iPad. I didn't think I would, but now I wish I had all of my books on it. It is more expensive that the other e-readers, but is does so much more. I use it for so many things for homeschool, as well as personal use. I can't imagine life without it now. . .:)
