  1. You are brilliant! I have a card from Homeschool Buyers Co-op. I wonder if that will work. I plan to call them this week. Thanks to everyone for your helpful replies. Tamy
  2. That's an interesting idea. I'll keep that in mind when I call them. Thanks! Tamy
  3. I'm not a member of HSLDA either. My husband is an attorney and I've never had a need for them. Thanks for the idea, though. Tamy
  4. Just curious if anyone has had to order an answer key from Labpaq recently? We live in Indiana and don't have to register with the state or report to the local school district, so I have no real proof that I homeschool (although I have homeschooled for over 12 years). Labpaq apparently now requires some proof before they will sell an answer key. I thought I would ask here, before I call them, to see if anyone else has encountered this (anyone who has no proof of homeschooling). I won't order from the company if I can't get an answer key to the Chemistry Labpaq...I need the help. ;-) Thanks in advance! Tamy
  5. It's taken care of. Thank you. We overworked our website guy last weekend. Tamy Davis JacKris Publishing
  6. The samples are fixed. Please refresh your browser once you get to the sample pages, otherwise your computer will still show you the old sample pages that are stored in your computer's cache (memory). Thank you for your patience. Please contact us if you have any questions. Best regards, Tamy Davis JacKris Publishing
  7. Those marks you are seeing are not supposed to be there. Those are supposed to be actual writing lines for the students. I would appreciate help from you wonderful folks. Could you tell me which browser you are using to view our sample pages? I've used Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome and they all show me the writing lines and no marks. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please know that we're working on this and will have these sample pages fixed as soon as we figure out why they are showing up like this for only some folks. Best regards, Tamy Davis JacKris Publishing
  8. This thread is so timely. I've been putting together a high school schedule for my oldest (who was in first grade just yesterday...or so it seems). I started with what our local high school requires for graduation and went from there. This is my tentative list for 9th grade next year... US History - Oak Meadow & Teaching Co. Lectures Chemistry with Lab - Oak Meadow & Teaching Co. Lectures English - Oak Meadow / Lightning Literature / Meaningful Composition Algebra II - Saxon Math Spanish I - Rosetta Stone Fitness / P.E. - Tennis Elective - Fine arts? Possibly Teaching Co. Lecture. Extras: Latin roots with English from the Roots Up (we've used this for over a year now) logic puzzles debate team at co-op Tamy Davis
  9. I have Level 1 for sale on the sale board. Tamy
  10. It was my intent to provide only the rules that are most commonly used and not to bog the student down by teaching the minutia of every rule and/or numerous exceptions. It is my experience that students tend to learn how to spell by practicing spelling and not necessarily by memorizing often complex and confusing rules. If you have any further questions, you can contact me directly. I'm happy to help. 11. MamaofTwo, I feel terrible for hijacking this thread, but your avatar brought tears to my eyes. I have an almost identical picture like that of my daughter (the outfits looks eerily similar...I think ours came in a kit). She's my baby, but she will be 10 in a few weeks. I saw your avatar and thought about how quickly both of my children are growing. Off to give them a kiss. Tamy Davis Growing With Grammar http://www.GrowingWithGrammar.com
  12. Thank you, kalanamak. We answer emails and telephone calls as soon as possible. I try to treat customers (or potential customers) the way I want to be treated by a company. I don't always have time to read this board, but I'll try to help when I am here. Thanks again, Tamy Davis Growing With Grammar http://www.GrowingWithGrammar.com
  13. He should be fine starting with Level 4 Growing With Grammar. Please feel free to email me directly if you have more questions. Tamy Davis Growing With Grammar http://www.GrowingWithGrammar.com
  14. Thanks, I'll keep this in mind for later on. Tamy
  15. I found an old thread that discussed a schedule for Prentice Hall Science Explorer Life Science. I PMd the person who offered the schedule (that included using other books/labs...it sounded fabulous), but I haven't heard from her. It was an old thread...perhaps she's not here anymore. Anyway...I wondered if anyone has a schedule for this series? Thanks in advance, Tamy
  16. Christie, I just discovered Meaningful Composition (thanks to some wonderful folks here) and it has been the magic bullet that my 11yo son has been needing. In just a few short weeks his writing has drastically improved. Some say it's like IEW but in a written format, but I'm not sure since I've never used IEW (although I do own it...it sits on my shelf taunting me;)). 17. I really feel the need to chime in here. We used the 3rd grade R&S book for a few weeks when my oldest was in 3rd grade, but that's the only level I've ever owned. Much research (from many resources) is done before starting a level. I've never based my writing on R&S (or any other program). If there are similarities, it's merely because specific topics are generally taught at a certain grade level. I hope this clears up any misconceptions. Thanks for the support! 18. Where are you in Indiana? Hamilton County (where I live) has a huge number of homeschoolers...I'm sure, if you post to the local groups, you could find quite a few who use WTM. Tamy Davis Growing With Grammar http://www.GrowingWithGrammar.com
  19. I have an 11yo EXTREMELY reluctant writer. Would it be smart to have him complete 4+ and 6+ in a year (or a bit more if necessary) to get him caught up? I assume the number is also a grade level...or is that incorrect? I'll email the author on Monday if nobody knows. Thanks! Tamy Growing With Grammar http://www.GrowingWithGrammar.com
  20. I was looking at this program as well. I'm anxious to read the replies. Tamy

  23. Wendi, Have you already made a schedule for this? I'll be using the same two programs with my ds and would love to see a schedule if you have one. :D Tamy Growing With Grammar http://www.GrowingWithGrammar.com
