  1. Have you checked out the book basket list in the back of your TM? I am switching from SL to MFW K & ECC, and will not be feeling the need anymore to supplement, there are SO many titles in the BB! Just my .02. I mean I always try to pick up SL books at Half Price Books, but I no longer feel like I HAVE to!
  2. I am 99% sure there is a super duper easy way to do this, and since I haven't been able to locate it on my own, I'm going to save my brain cells and ask here. Is there a way for me to get an email or PM when someone responds to a post I have made in a thread so I don't have to keep scrolling through all the threads to see if someone has replied/responded? Thanks.
  3. Hi. I already have my SM for my kiddos and have switched from US to Standards Edition. I was just curious, if I COULD get my hands on them used, are they the US or Standards Edition? How are they that helpful? Just wondering what all is in the lesson plans? Does it just lay the days out for you, or is it like the HIGs? Thanks in advance!

  5. Yes ma'am, Heartland, TX. East of DFW. Can't wait to meet you "officially" beyond the FB Kaufman board :-).
  6. I have a current 3rd grader and a daughter who is 5. She will be 6 in October. We have been working on kinder stuff and figured we would just keep going through next year. She is not reading yet. Here is my question. I have used SL for 2 years with my son. Love all the reading, yet am wanting a change in focus. I was assuming that I would use MFW K with her and ECC with him next year. But after reading some other posts, I am wondering if I could or should do MFW K with her and Adventures with them (her tagging along) instead? Just wanting to do this correctly, and would greatly appreciate your input, thanks. He is a voracious, above average reader and I want to continue to encourage that :-). I am thinking I will keep piecing together my own books from SL lists, and having them available to read even if we don't follow their program. We have a very small town library here, so not lots of options. I am just wondering if there is a way to keep them closer together for later, or if they will just always be separate b/c of the age difference. I don't want to hold DS 9 back, but don't want him to miss out on anything either? Adventures looks great!? Thanks in advance for your guidance!
  7. HM...all interesting comments. DS just turned 9 is in 3rd grade. Did not find out about WTM, FFL, WWE until last summer. So, bought the CD for FLL 1&2, listened to most of it and bought FFL3 and WWE3. We are doing well with FLL and alright with WWE, although it has really stretched him which is great, however, I see we are not going to finished the book this year, I don't think. Advice needed: do we just keep plugging along and if we don't finish then pick up where we left off in the fall? He is also a on writer although he LOVES to read and he is doing very well on the narrations, but the dictations are bogging him, down, but we press on. Any suggestions? I am starting to think we should have started with WWE1 or 2 and just possibly moved at a faster pace, but I don't think there is value in going backwards? HELP! Also, I have a daughter lightly kindering this year with math and handwriting, etc. DH thought we could just repeat kinder (she's young). I guess that's the great thing about HSing, no rules, so to speak. Thank God I live in Texas! Anyway since we were a few years behind in HSing, when do you begin (personally) FLL & WWE? Thanks!
