  1. You're not making it easier! Hmmm...perhaps I'll start with The Orthodox Way.

Has anyone read Ponder These Things: Praying with Icons of the Virgin? I just remembered that I got it the other day as well. The author, Archbishop Rowan Williams, is Anglican, but Kallistos Ware wrote the foreword.

ETA: I didn't see Little Nyssa's response before. Thanks for the heads up about The Way of a Pilgrim;I'll start The Orthodox Way now.

  2. I picked up three Orthodox books at a book sale this weekend: The Way of a Pilgrim, The Diary of a Russian Priest -- Alexander Elchainov, and The Orthodox Way -- Bishop Kallistos Ware. Now I'm staring at them, wondering which I should read first. :) Suggestions? Is there one that you think is more foundational?

    Thanks!

  3. My priest, Fr. John, is ill. I don't know the specifics, but I just got an email saying various Holy Week services will be canceled. I have also noticed him seeming more fatigued recently.

He is a wonderful man and has been such a blessing to me. Your prayers would be appreciated. :001_smile:

  4. I think she could be usable, but not something I would give to my child for independent work.

:iagree:I generally like them, as do my kids, but they need discussion and supplementation. On second thought, I read them several years ago, and have been growing steadily more conservative since then, so my opinion may have changed.
