I live in Massachusetts. Our governor has explicitly not ordered shelter in place, despite plenty of clamor for it. Encouragement to not be out unnecessarily, sure, but it's very loosely defined. It's an advisory. Some towns have issued stricter limitations. So, I am not sure what the criteria for that report are. Our county has the highest case count in the state at over 2500. My son left the house today for the first time in more than two weeks. He wanted to take some pictures near a lake. He came home without getting out of the car. He was shocked at how thick the crowds were on the trails and just hanging out in general.

What are the five states?

Tonight our governor banned public meetings, including church, of over 25 attendees.

My teen stayed home. The center was open, but I imagine attendance was down. It is run by a big chain, not part of our public school system.

Our neighborhood primary school is closed today because a student, whose parent is a confirmed case, has symptoms. Would you allow your teen to go to his job at a private tutoring center that services many students from this elementary school?

My 16 yo daughter read this and has this to say: 1st of all this David dude is messed up. like wHaT?!!? 2) I agree with "Date" that somebody needs to kick David's a$$. I personally would've done it right then and there 🤣 He needs to get knocked in the head sooner or later. 3) How can David think that he and DD have a "strong connection" if they never ever talk? That was like a 🤦‍♀️ moment 4) I agree with everybody else: get a new phone and number. Or if the number is too hard since she does gigs and such, at least get a new phone. And maybe even get a phone that isn't an iPhone... okay and last thing... I promise: I think it would be awesome if you took her phone with you and went somewhere and see if he shows up. Then you would see if it's her phone that's allowing him to know where she is. I think it would be funny. Anyway this David guy is pretty messed up and if I had someone stalking me like that I would be way too afraid to actually still go on with my normal life - so kudos to her.

She has found college males who don’t drink to be very scarce. When I was in college I knew plenty of guys who didn’t drink at all. Do you know any college males who stay away from alcohol? My son matriculated at GATech. He didn't take any SAT subject tests, and they didn't ask about his lab sciences. It could be because he had a year of engineering-track physics at CC. They didn't ask about his other 4 credits of science.

She has been a student at two colleges and has been in several ministry groups, and the guys all drink. They drink during Bible study.

Not good enough for her. She can't stand the smell, doesn't want the substance in the fridge, just really against the whole thing in her family life.

Thanks, everyone. I did not mean to imply that college son was being disrespectful. There just seemed to be some tension around our knowing the schedule.

PLEASE DON'T QUOTE Is it unreasonable to ask a college student home for the summer, who has use of a family car to commute to a part time job, to let us know his work schedule for the week? Would it be different if he didn't need the car? Same college son accompanied my minor son while he engaged in an illegal activity. We have no knowledge of college student actually breaking the law on the trip but definitely knew younger son was breaking the law. He doesn't know we know. What would you do? Thanks as always.

I have been wearing skirt/dress on planes for at least 15 years and have never received any special attention at security. Don't remember ever being touched. Skirts ranged from just below knee to midcalf. I fly about 3x/year.

a few years ago derek owens gave me a thumb drive containing the physics lectures so we could work in an off-the-grid location.

A solution recommended to me decades ago was shaving with the grain instead of against it. It helped the ingrown hairs but required more frequent shaving to look good.

My friend, a surgeon, just passed 12 years after receiving a cancer diagnosis with a 5% five-year survival (or was it 3-year?) rate. The last few years were hard but really only the last year was really hard, so he stopped treatment and was gone very quickly. A relative died young of a cancer with a similar survival rate. She fought hard but was gone within a year. Really hard to know what to do, but everyone hopes to be in the 5%.

We had a situation like this with a sneaky child, who was already seeing a therapist out of our concerns about deceitfulness. Consequences were difficult and not short-lived, but the medium-term outcome seems great. Our situation was different in that we found the rogue phone in the child's hand. If I had found the phone as you describe, I would probably have waited for her to come and ask me about it. If that didn't happen within 24 hours, I would confront her. If she refuses to unlock the phone for you, that's another level of trouble. She then would likely try to access it behind your back so she can clean it up before you see it. Storing it off site, like at Dad's workplace, might be appropriate. Does she go to school? If so, this will be harder to scope out. She can clean up accounts using someone else's phone.
