  1. Oh my goodness!! This SCREAMS of Pandas!!! Please find a Pandas specialist (not very many, but I can help you find some) and get your child there ASAP!! Pandas is treatable (NOT WITH SSRI's!!!!!) with abx and sometimes IVIG. The longer it goes on, the harder it can be to treat!! Pandas is an autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation in the basal ganglia, which can cause intrusive thoughts, sleeping problems, OCD, tics, rages, anxiety, phobias, etc!!! Not many doctors know about it, so I would not waste time with a ped or psychiatrist. A pandas doc can diagnose based on symptoms and knows what blood work to draw. My son developed intrusive thoughts, ocd, anxiety, night wakings, tourettes type behavior overnight. He was not sick at the time. Anyway, that was almost 2 years ago and now he is doing amazing! When he had his onset, he was given an antibiotic and within three days, the ocd, intrusive thoughts, night wakings, etc were cut in half by 50%. They eventually went away. Anyway, I hope you will check into this. Go to the OCD foundation website and find info on pandas. Or type pandas into google or youtube and you will find lots of information. I hope this helps!!!
  2. Faith,

Hi. I am so sorry...I just now came back here and saw that I had several unread messages! I am very sorry about the pre-algebra test solutions cd. I do have it here on my shelf! I can send it out asap...I hope it is not too late! At least, you might need it if you want to resell it! Please send me your address and I will mail it out to you. Again, I am so sorry!

    Stacey

  3. Hi Stacey, would you leave feedback for me for buying the Teaching Textbooks Pre Algebra from you this past week? Thank you!

I am missing the Test CDs for the set. Just now realized it and really could use them. Can you see if you have them anywhere around your home. I'm sure they accidently just didn't get put in the package. Let me know. Maybe you don't come here any longer? I never heard back from you at all.

  4. Yes! I am using this with 3 of my children and they love it and we are getting so much accomplished! They do not have to wait on me anymore, and I get to be their teacher helper. I love all the poetry memorization, engaging teachers, Bible memorization and that they practice their math flash cards everyday!! I have never been so consistent! I also love that I have time for my 3yo and my house/meals! We still do read alouds all together! I am loving Abeka DVD and realize that my kids are doing so well and learning so much with this method & textbooks. I have done many literature based curriculums and felt they never learned much and their eyes would glaze over. I am a huge advocate of doing what works for your family! :o)
  5. I know you don't have the dog anymore, but I wanted to add something. Our young dog started having seizures and I finally realized it was right after we gave him heartguard. (a heartworm medicine with ivermectin in it) I told the vet about this and he poo-pooed me!! Said he had to have it! Well, I decided to get Interceptor. This is a different kind of heartworm medicine without ivermectin and he has not had another seizure!! It has been a little over a year now and he was having two or three grand mal seizures every month...right at the time he got his heartguard. I just wanted to throw this out there to maybe help someone else...some dogs can't handle ivermectin in the heartguard!!
  6. natalie, That is great that this diet agrees with you!! I sooooo wish I felt better on it because the weight loss on it has been encouraging!! I just don't know how long I can do it when I feel like this. I think it is strange that some feel great and have lots of energy and some don't! I guess we are all different! vmsurbat, thanks for the link to the nos diet on the web! It is encouraging that you have been so successful with it! My dh really wants us to follow the NoS Diet instead! I was reading a blog about NoS and the person said they finally felt free of obsessing about food and diets! I so want that! I have wasted so much time, money and energy and have very little to show for my efforts. I don't want food to be so important anymore! I love the idea of 3 meals a day and no sweets! It just sounds so balanced and healthy...like our ancestors used to eat! I think we might seriously give this a try...I have been reading the book the last few days! :o) Stacey
  7. stansclan, Yes, this diet makes me feel like crap too! And my dh!! What I notice the most is that I am exhausted!! I have several kids (like you!) and one of them is almost 2 and I find it hard to carry him up the stairs, keep up with him, etc! I also notice that it is hard for me to concentrate...I was trying to pay bills and it took me forever to get it done. I am discouraged because I lost weight and I am a slow loser, but I don't know if I can do this for long. I am thinking of trying the no S diet and trying to eat whole, healthy foods for my meals. I know that will be way slower, though. Stacey
  8. > have to tell you though, on fruit day the last thing I would want is ICE CREAM...give me FOOD thankyouverymuc!! < LOL! That is so funny, because that is exactly what my husband said!!! He wanted food!!! He actually got a burrito from Qdoba too!!! LOL I don't know why but I was craving ice cream ALL day!! It was strange because I am not a big ice cream eater anyway! I am back on course today and hoping my mess up won't mess everything up too much! Stacey
  9. ok, so today was fruit day and I did great ALL day until dh came home. He is doing it with me and was having a really hard time with it and kept saying we should do WW and count points!!!! He wanted to EAT! LOL Well, we ended up cheating! We took the kids and got an ice cream. Dh and I shared ours, but I am pretty sure that was a pretty big cheat on fruit day, no less! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone cheated and still went on to finish the cycle with good results? I hate to start over and have to do fruit day again...I hate fruit!! (well, I like cantalope and bananas, but those aren't allowed!) :o( I think I will just go on to day 3 tomorrow and realize my results at the end might not be as good as they could have been. Stacey
  10. Ok! I am the one that has been disappointed because of the menus on this diet. Well, I decided to go to the diet generator and take off some things like sausage and bacon that I like ONCE in awhile but not everyday! Oh my goodness...the new diet that it made for me is MUCH MORE doable!! I mean, now it gives me 3 choices on several meals and it gives me veggies and fruits MUCH MORE often!!! I can't figure it out! This new diet appeals more to me (and my dh) than the 1st one. Here is an example: Day 5 (1st diet the generator made for me) Meal 1 Peanuts Hard Boiled Eggs Meal 2 Ham Slices Roast Beef Slices Meal 3 Cashews Bacon Strips Meal 4 Sausage Links Low fat Milk New Day 5 on the new diet the generator made for me (with sausage and bacon removed): Meal 1 Turkey Slices Regular Cheese Slices Meal 2 Bowl of Red and Green Vegetables Bowl of Green Beans Meal 3 Hard Boiled Eggs Low Fat Milk Meal 4 Ham Slices Scrambled Eggs So, it let me have veggies on the new day 5! And everyday is like that now...so strange. I even had my dh look at it because I couldn't figure it out and he says the new diet it gave me seems a little more balanced....more veggies, fruits, and not SO much protein!! Anyway, we are going to give it another try. We will start again tomorrow with the new diet it gave me. I haven't checked the carb content, but I at least feel better that I can have fruit and veggies and sometimes 3 choices. :o) I was excited to lose weight finally because I am a slooooowwww loser usually. I am also still bf'ing my toddler and I want to feel like my diet is at least a little balanced. Kwim? I am not worried about dieting while bf'ing because he is almost two and gets most of his nutrtition from regular food. Ok, enough rambling! Thanks for all your advice and help! Stacey:o)
  11. >Personally, if I had lost 6 pounds in 6 days, I wouldn't be looking to get my money back. The diet has done what it's promised to do...you have indeed lost weight, right? I'm not sure I understand. But, hey, give it a try! If you're unsatisfied, you're unsatisfied. I don't see why they wouldn't honor their money back guarantee< Hi. I guess I want my money back because I feel like I was deceived. They advertise that it is not low carb or starving yourself. Like I mentioned before, I have entered about 3 days worth into my bodybugg system and it is VERY low carb and pretty darn low calories...of course, I was eating normal portions of stuff, not overeating. One day didn't get close to 1000 calories...I think that was fruit day. The days were low carb and one day I remember being TWICE the recommended daily allowance of sodium...it came to 4448 instead of 2400 that is recommended...OUCH! It must have been sausage links, bacon, etc.!! I would be happy with 6 pounds if I didn't think it was just water (healthy water) and muscle. I have read numerous places that low carb/low calorie will eat up muscle. So, basically, I just thought it wasn't low carb and it seems to be and I don't want a low carb diet. I could just do Atkins and take three days off, or the phase 1 of South Beach! I did go back and look at the Beyond Calories...I purchased that when I purchased FL4I, and it looks a little better to me. It seems to give you more fruits and vegetables each day...I just haven't logged it into my bodybugg so I don't know what the carb content is each day. I may do that as I am REALLY wanting to get this FAT off!!! I need to lose 40 lbs and we are going to Disneyworld in October and I was hoping to get at least 20 by then!! Then I might feel comfortable being in a few of the family pictures!! LOL Has anyone tried the Beyond Calories diet? (
  12. Hi. I am on day 6 of this diet and I have lost 6 lbs. I seriously think this is a low carb diet, though. I have the bodybugg and log in the daily menus and for today (and other days) the carb level is about 30 grams. Plus, it was under 1100 calories! And, less than half what someone would need for fiber!! I have felt tired on this diet too. I have read the wonderful reviews, but just wonder if anyone feels like me...like this is a low carb diet? (i know you get to eat what you want for 3 days...i am just talking about the 11 days) I don't think cashews and bacon strips is a healthy dinner!! It is a high protein diet too. I don't like low carb because I feel like you lose muscle and water and I don't like extra low calories because I think I will gain weight back if I eat just normal calories! UGH! Anyway, I am not saying it is not good for others at all...I just don't think it is for me. I think I will try the simply filling/momentum plan from WW. I was doing it before this and losing about 1.5 lbs a week. I was wondering if anyone knows how to contact this company (fat loss 4 idiots) as I seem to remember they have a money back guarantee, but I can't find any way to contact them on their website!! Good luck to all of you...I HATE this whole weight loss dilemma! :o( Stacey
  13. I am so thankful that he is ok. I know how scary that is! My 4yo had pretty much the same thing happen to her (she is 10 now). We were moving furniture and a tall bookshelf (very heavy, but empty because we were moving it) fell on her. My husband ran in there to get it off of her and he rushed her to the hospital. I stayed with the baby and the other kids and prayed and cried the whole time. I remember feeling so guilty because it had been a time when she had really been on my nerves! When that happened, I realized how precious they are and how much you love them even when they are going through phases that really bug you! They did a few x-rays and she was ok...praise the Lord! Stacey
  14. Yeah! We really like TT here and I have 2 more coming up that will be able to benefit from it.
