  1. My 12yo daughter is interested in becoming more informed regarding current events. She has used Time for Kids for a couple of years, but I would like to find a news source that has more depth (but with minimal "smut" news). What do you use for your adolescents?
  2. Do you worry about your logic-aged child not having academic interactions (debates, discussions, questioning sessions) with their peers? If you use on-line classes, do you feel they fill that role? The logic-aged class in our co-op (which serves as our history, science, Latin and art spine) may be whittled down to just two students next year, and I am wondering if I need to "switch gears" to provide my daughter more academic interaction with other logic-aged students. Any words of wisdom?
  3. I have been a private test-prep tutor since 2005; and regardless of the "tips and strategies" book your student ends up using, s/he should take all practice tests out of the College Board's Official SAT Study Guide. Practice tests in all of those other books are the publisher's "best attempt" to write an SAT. To get the most legitimate and helpful preparation, practice with the real-deal.
  4. I have been searching for an online Spanish course for my rising 7th grade dd, and I think this might be the one. If you have had experience with this program, could you let me know your thoughts? And if, like me, you are limited to satellite internet service, has this still been a program that worked effectively for your student? Or, is there an alternative that I should research . . . . . ?? Thank you!
