My sister had a dh that monitored her all the time. Turns out he needed to know where/what/why/ how constantly because he was afraid she was going to discover his other family.

I wonder if he's annoyed at an 8 yr old for crying because it didn't snow, because I would think that is an extreme reaction. Perhaps his pissy attitude is a "my boy is homeschooled so I need to toughen him up so he won't be a momma's boy" reaction. Now before anyone bellyaches at me I am not condoning. Just wondering if this could be behind the behavior. Figuring that out could be the first step in stopping it.

My five have always been grateful that we homeschooled. But I wonder if my boys would have benefitted from playing some high school sports just to sort of offset their daredevil tendencies. But who knows? They are independent little farts.

Our first ranch house was built in 1900. Three stories, seven bedrooms, one bathroom. Front porch, second floor porch. The top floor had an enclosed balcony with little built in bee doors and once upon a time there were bee hives up there. On purpose. A big ranching family lived and prospered there, we've pics of them outside the house on their horses. Later it was a boarding house and when we got married some of the numbers were still on the bedroom doors. There was a smokehouse in the back and a well. The barn was also three stories with hay storage on the top and dairy accommodations on the ground floor. Lived there for as long as I could stand it. Tore it down when pregnant with the first and built a new ranch house. Never missed it although everyone in the county was furious.

All the suggestions about what cleaners to use and how when where etc are good. But the way you get your house clean and organized is to get off your butt and work hard at it every day.

Oh wow! I just had surgery Tuesday. Torn rotator cuff and a couple of other problems. Can't take prescript pain meds because I've learned the pain is better than the pain plus nausea. Just hang in there! i've got six weeks in one of these immobilizers and then therapy. Pain lessens everyday.

Two more thoughts. First, I love a good camera so that's important. Second, it just occurred to me that I'll have to get a fanny pack or something when I ride. I hate fanny packs but then again my 5s is impossible to ride with too.

I know this is old but I can't resist horse topics. I've had horses since I was eight. I'm now 56 and my parents are still waiting for me to outgrow them. I'd do whatever I could to get that child on a horse. My niece (whose mom can't afford horses) is horse crazy and works at barns for rides. They recently moved just three hours away from me and we're always conspiring to get her to my house for some ride time. If your dd has the hunger nothing else is going to feed it.
