  1. Ding Ding Ding!! A squillion points! No one in the entire room of 90 people knew the answer to this 😂
  2. Just got back from Tacos and Trivia. Without looking it up, guess which YouTube video has the most views worldwide?
  3. I need to start choosing and ordering end-of-school-year books. I usually find a lot of them on abebooks but since they aren't textbooks or workbooks it's easier to find nice quality copies that are in good condition.
  4. The best news I've gotten all week - maybe all month, is that the tutorial now has room for dd17 in the marine biology class which was full when I tried to register her a couple months ago. It was the one class she really wanted to take but I had to prioritize dd15's required classes so by the time I got to marine biology (like maybe 45 seconds from when I started) it was full. Yay for fish!
  5. Good afternoon! whew busy morning. I was up at 3:30 this morning dealing with Little Pup who got his t-shirt diaper off and then checked the coffee pot which was being cleaned with a tablet thing and checked on the oven which had finished it's self-cleaning cycle. Then tried to get back to sleep without much success. I dozed off a bit after breakfast and then had to drive ds19 to work and then the girls to a coffee shop a couple towns over to meet with friends from their Spanish class. While they were there, I stopped by AutoZone to get some motor oil for the van and new windshield wipers which the guy so kindly put on for me. Then Aldi and pick up girls then get gas (it was 62 cents cheaper per gallon than near my house) and then to pick up ds from work and now finally home eating leftover taco salad and dealing with an unexpected esophageal spasm. It seems to have been triggered by the red onion in the salad. More Coffee!
  6. Little Pup is eating scrambled egg for dinner. We removed the Cone of Shame and put on the T-Shirt Diaper. It's just easier to deal with but still prevents him from messing with his incision area. Ds28 said they are planning to hold a Spreadsheet Tag Tournament in honor of his upcoming departure from the company. Ds invented the game a couple years ago, but has updated it to include a viewing room.
  7. Little Pup is back home and napping in his Cone of Shame. Big Pup whined most of the morning when I came back to the house without him, but has now settled down. Did I tell you all that I found a signed copy of a Judy Blume book (In the Unlikely Event) at the Half Price Bookstore in Waco? 5 bucks. I haven't read it yet.
  8. Good morning! Today is National Banana Day - Everybody go Bananas!! 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌 I left early to bring Little Pup to the vet. He is getting fixed today. I would really like people to stop adding things to my schedule. I am wondering if Sir Pups-a-lot has pink eye. His eyes have been unusually goopy the last few days. Sigh. I should probably have him checked out. Coffee!
  9. I got out of my eye appointment in time to get ds19 to his cello lesson. The doctor wants me back in 3 months to do another test for macular degeneration. Also she said that though my eyes have the beginnings of cataracts (typical of being in your mid-50's) it will be another 5-10 years before they'll be able to get insurance to pay for cataract/vision surgery. In the mean time I can try progressive lenses and see if they help me see my violin music. While ds was in his cello lesson I was able to return our old modem to xfinity and stop at the Aldi nearby for flour. How is it 2:00 already?!?
  10. Good morning! Pups have been pottied, goats have been banished, trash bins have been taken to the curb, misc. needs have been addressed, and now I have a few minutes to kill before leaving for the eye doctor. The girls are doing schoolwork. Tonight there is a scout thing that dd17 needs to attend. I expect she will want me to drive because it's in a nearby town that she's never driven to before. Coffee!
  11. I keep thinking that if I convince her to go there I will have so many excuses to be in Wyoming. I stayed somewhere in the state as a teenager on my family's road trip to California. There was a rodeo going on in the town which I declined to attend because I was an Idiot Teenager and preferred to stay in the Motel and watch movies. I just realized that the Musik-Brücken home base is in the same town as the college. Hmmmm. Maybe *I* should enroll in Wyoming Catholic College.
  12. We are back. After the formal the girls begged me to take them to Andy's to meet up with the kids they'd just spent the past 4 hours with, lol. Their backpacking blistered feet are not too bad. Has anyone visited Wyoming Catholic College? I suspect dd17 would go bananas over their program. It's very outdoorsy. We are not Catholic.
  13. The girls are at the formal. They had fun getting their hair all fancy, lol. I expect their hair and dresses will be fairly disheveled by the end of the night, what with food and dancing involved. Dd17 has become somewhat adept at doing the "mop the floor" swing dance move in a formal dress. 😂
  14. FRESNO! (That word looks weird in all caps.) You and Krissi will practically be neighbors!
  15. Good morning! It's The Queen's favorite day! Have you filed your taxes? The girls really need to get their gear put away but I don't expect that to happen today. Dd15 has an ortho appointment this morning, dd17 has a chemistry test, and then they have music lessons this afternoon and their tutorial formal dinner/dance tonight. Coffee!
  16. The girls had a great backpacking trip. At the trailhead yesterday a dog with a collar and tags came over to play with them and ended up hanging out with them the whole day. His name was Ollie and he was very protective. When they jumped in the river to swim a little he would jump right in after them and try to drag them out of the water. He also retrieved dd's waterbottle which had fallen out of her pack and started floating down the river. He also liked to hunt (and eat) flies and bees. He more or less stayed with them the entire 5 miles to their campsite but took off somewhere in the night and they didn't see him again. Hopefully he found his family - they said he seemed very comfortable out on the trails so possibly he knew his way around. There wasn't any cell service so they couldn't call the number on his tag. They were smoking it on the trail today. 9 miles in less than 4 hours. I would never have been able to keep up with them. #cautiousturtlehiking
  17. I puffy heart love my upright freezer, may she live forever.
  18. Good afternoon! You all need to stop distracting me with awesome tales and music so I can get something done before the girls get back and I have to go pick them up. Ds19 and I played for services this morning. I had to get up extra early to walk and potty the puppies since the girls are gone and ds28 is busy with a world gamedev event thing. But we made it there on time and then I realized I forgot to tell the music assistant that we had switched Sundays with the girls. But they were OK with that. Between services I was in the nursery and all 12 babies/toddlers were miraculously content. I had some leftover potato soup for lunch but I think Imma need more Coffee!
