Thanks to everyone for all of the great info and links :) -
Does anyone know of a good typing program that is not too expensive, but fun for my 7th grader?

Does anyone do a notebook for LG children? -
Thanks for all of the info. I am definitely looking into these programs to find the best fit for us.

Thank you all for the great tips and encouragement. Of course today he is having a good day, so the school work is being done with ease. I know I just need the strength to get through this phase, and hopefully he will fall in with the rest of my kids.

Thank you so much for that. Do you have your notebooks bound somwhere? -
Thanks for your support. I have also tried to take a break, two weeks at a time. Then come back to it, he'll have a few good days, and he reverts to his school strike again. I know he is still young and really my main focus this year is getting math, reading, and writing done. I have even tried to lighten his load thinking that I might be pushing him too hard, but on his good days he can breeze through his work without a problem. So by cutting back I feel like I'm giving in to what he wants, which is not do school. I am hoping he does snap out of this phase by next year. I'm glad to know others have made it through this phase.

Have you tried these yourself and saw improvement? I have purchased multiple things and don't want to invest anymore unless I get actual feedback from an actual user. -

Is this your first year doing TOG? Thanks for all of that input you help me visualize it alot better. -
He doesn't have any learning disabilities, I already had him tested. When he was younger I found out he had some eye/vision issues. It took about a year to get that fixed and he began to improve initially, but 2 years later he still hasn't caught up. Sometimes it seems he is being lazy about his attempts at reading, but I don't know.

I am planning on using TOG for the first time next year. In preparing my year, I an very overwhelmed by the amount of preparation required ahead of time-coming from Sonlight. I would love to know how you set up your student notebooks with daily assignments, maps, do you include all of the student pages or pick and choose? I have three levels to prepare for LG, UG & D. Any advice would help...

My 11-ds has been really struggling with reading. It takes him twice as long to finish a chapter than my 12-dd. His comprehension is poor as well. Any ideas on a remedial reading program that won't make him feel like he's 5?

My 6-ds has been struggling all year long with 'school' time. I have tried rewards, punishments, threats to be sent to 'regular' school while his siblings continue at home. Nothing is working. I thought he would out groe it and settle into a groove like my others, but he still fights it. Some days are better than others, but yesterday was a really bad one and it sucks the energy out of me trying to get him motivated to finish everyday.
