  1. I recently bought the Well Planned Day homeschool planner online software. Unfortunately, we ended up starting school late, because we received our materials late. (We are serving as missionaries overseas). That's when the problems started. I was ready to start inputting curriculum, lessons, etc. But I couldn't even add my children to the program. When I corresponded with the company through e-mail, I got a letter stating they would send my problem to IT, and to e-mail customer service for a refund. However, when I e-mailed them, they told me it was past the "30 day" mark since I bought the program, and they couldn't help me. Now, first of all, this is in their FAQ section online, and it was not presented during the purchase of the program nor in the receipts of purchase. Secondly, it is an online program! They can see that I have been unable to do anything with it, so it is clear that I'm not trying to cheat them out of anything. I'm honestly having a problem. So, what do I do? I feel like they don't care, they've got their money, so tough for me. I feel bad because our homeschooling materials are paid for by kind people who support our ministry, and I try really hard to be a good steward of that money. This program was not cheap.
  2. Thanks for the apps idea. I hadn't thought about that. I also will look into the click n spell and dreambox. Right now our son is at a K/1st grade level. I appreciate the imput. There is so much out there it can be overwhelming at times. I know there's no "magic fix" for anything, but I really want him to enjoy learning as much as possible. I'm sure you all understand where I'm coming from.
  3. Do any of you use online resources with your children? I used Time 4 Learning, because our son with FAS really enjoyed the lessons. It did help some with reading, but not as much as I though perhaps it would. However, it seems that every time I think something will be of great benefit, it doesn't quite live up to what I expected. I would like to find some good reinforcement type computer games for math and reading. When our son was in school his spec. ed teacher had a smart board and did some type of game with dolch words. He really like it. So, if you have any ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks! :)
  4. Thanks for the advice. I am currently researching, and I hope to have a choice made in the next couple weeks. :001_smile:
  5. Here is my situation. My son is ten. He has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He has been with us since two months, but because of lack of information we didn't have a diagnosis until he was 7 yrs. old. He struggles with short term memory issues, problems with receptive language, and abstract concepts are very difficult to grasp. This makes math a frustrating subject for him (and for mom). We have worked with Math U See, but we seem to be stuck and can go no further. I need some solid advice. I was considering touchmath. Do any of you have a child with these struggles? What have you used? What advice would you give me? To top everything off, we are living overseas, so I need to figure out what I am going to do relatively quickly in order to have the curriculum shipped here in time.
