  1. Scout, will the hospital let you send something via FedEx, UPS for your mom? This must be so difficult for you... SKL, I hope that your dd's teachers are understanding. Hope she is on the mend soon! Reader, hope that you are doing well! Ironically, my brother and his wife moved to a small town in Texas to escape the East Coast weather. They are at 5 degrees today, rolling blackouts. It's good that they are experienced in all of this. Dh and I made a Target run, dropped off some essentials to our boys. I'm going to cook up steak using the air fryer, make a couple of lunches for the week.
  2. Good morning! Praying for all who are encountering the storms. TC, praying you feel better. SKL, praying that your dd feels better soon. To do today: blueberry muffins, new recipe, in the oven right now lesson plan and grade (late afternoon) meal prep from grocery run yesterday talk with dd, see if she will apply to other schools before the deadline look online for some t-shirts, a new sweater/cardigan (my teaching uniform 🙂 ) pay bills, work in craft/office room for awhile treadmill and weight workout steak and salad for dinner
  3. Dd got acceptances from Cal Poly and Channel Islands, both state schools this week, Theater Arts. Very happy! She is now rethinking the gap year...Cal Poly was a reach because of the major.
  4. Praying for your mom, Scout! Good morning, everyone...a bright, sunny but cool day here today. Deciding if I want to get out for a bit. Dh has some errands to run. To do: laundry coffee walk dog work on office space, pay bills, organize tax docs monitor water intake, vitamins grade unsure about dinner

  8. Morning! Dd got an admissions packet in the mail yesterday to one of the state schools she applied to. Even though she wants a year off, it opened her eyes that she could get into college. She was quite happy! To do: coffee breakfast Target/Costco work on office/craft room make snacks for game bbq burgers for dinner, watch game read for book challenge
  9. Dd received an admissions packet to Cal State Chico today. Very unexpected! She wants a gap year but was very excited that she got in for her major, musical theater. She now wants to take a trip to visit.
  10. Well, we went looking for patio furniture. What a mistake! Everyone and their mother was out and about today. We got lunch out, to go, my salad was missing the chicken, maybe a teaspoon of dressing. At least I kept my carb count down! Went shopping for Super Bowl snacks, picked up take and bake pizza for dinner, got my mom's things at CVS. Now relaxing with some wine while dd watches Anastasia.
  11. Morning! To do: coffee webinar on new technology for class work on front porch area Home Depot or Lowes for some plant ideas pick up Rxs clean master bedroom and bath vacuum, dust blinds That's the plan for this morning...the rest ???
  12. TGIF! I love Fridays...don't know why. It's just always a great day of teaching! The conversations about anxiety, my "fault" and dementia are spot on. My dad used to get angry if one of us got a flat tire. Didn't we see the nail in the road and avoid it? 😆 When we took my mom for her shot last week, she thanked me over and over for having such a nice day. Um, we got a vaccine and a hamburger for lunch at home. It made me sad... And the anxiety? Dd fought me over senior pics, her hair. I wanted the traditional look. She is not a traditional person. She did her hair the day before, did not use hair spray or anything to hold it in place. Her proofs came yesterday. Frizzy hair. Frizzy hair. I mean, frizzy hair. I am so disappointed. I know, we pick and choose our battles. Sigh... Done: pork loin is marinating in the fridge emailed dd's teachers about our power outage/internet outage so she can get extension for work two classes are done for the day To do: class paperwork, straighten up desk area email students for class that starts next week treadmill workout read, relax pork loin, salad, veggies for dinner read some more...
  13. A small victory! The presentation I made for my class worked...I'm proud of myself. Rolling out all of these different platforms, just exhausting to keep up with. classes are done now, to start grading rough drafts

  15. Morning! To do: classes watch more videos on jazzing up google slides/jamboard, etc. lunch/monitor water intake more classes
  16. I have been using it for a year now, based on Hot and Flashy's recommendation on YouTube. The Rx I had started with low tretinoin, azelaic acid... I recently changed my formula to address areas that concerned me. The benefits have been great, and my consultant has been very helpful. She suggested a supplement to assist with my skin goals and she was absolutely right about it. When asking if it's worth it, It takes forever to get a derm consult through my provider, and when I do, it takes about 3 months to get an appointment. Curology just cuts out the runaround. I've been very happy with it.
  17. I love the Kiss My Keto Bars, choose the flavor that suits you best. I have had the peanut butter chocolate(my favorite), and salted caramel. I just bought the birthday cake one, so I can't judge that one. I also like the Love Good Fats bars. I haven't had a bad one yet. I buy both of these at Trader Joe's, Sprouts.
  18. Scout, sorry for your dd. Been there, trust me. This year has been so tough, but hopefully like you said, have fun and know that she did the best that she could. There is no rhyme or reason to auditions.
  19. TheReader: We are currently working with a behaviorist with our dog. It's the best thing we have done. We've been teetering on surrendering to a rescue, but we are trying to be very optimistic at this point. It's work...and lots of it. She has really come a long way since then. Just trying to throw some encouragement your way... We went for the longer package with the follow-ups. Dinner is in crockpot/chicken in green enchilada sauce teaching is done for the day Eating lunch, watching Kami videos on YouTube, trying to add "one more thing" to distance learning
  20. Good morning! Christina, praying for you... The good news this morning: my fasting blood sugar was down to 127. So much better! Done: master bath shower/dressed breakfast, lunch. made work After that, I'll update...not sure what area to tackle.
  21. Went to go shopping, left my phone at home. Dh had locked himself out of the house. Dd and I had to leave the store to come back home. I'm going to try to go to Michael's to pick up more photo boxes for office storage, Sprouts for groceries.
  22. My mom (90) had the Pfizer yesterday, no side effects except for the sore arm. I had the Pfizer last week, and I didn't have a reaction except for the sore arm at the time. The last few days, however, my blood sugar has been sky high (diabetic) and I had to call in about it. I was supposed to have been told to "monitor blood sugar carefully in the days following vaccination." I wasn't warned about this, but it's coming down now, just being very vigilant and staying hydrated per doctor's advice.
  23. January was difficult because of multiple birthdays, the necessary snacks for football watching (not necessary, but wanted). Dd's senior pics were an unexpected expense. Pictures must be taken by the photographer or they are not allowed in the yearbook. Today we made a donation to the memorial garden for our school, so I'll offset that by doing some intense meal planning using the store flyers. I only want to plan out a few days at a time. It feels like anything past that gets wasted or spoils. Historically Accurate, do you ask for meals for the weekends? At our site, they create packages on Friday for the weekends. Last month, a family requested one but then changed their minds. They offered it to some of the staff and my kids were knee deep in oatmeal, pop tarts, tortillas, a block of cheese, sandwiches, small snacks, etc. They also gave us a full thing of chocolate milk that was set to expire within the week. It's worth asking about for having something extra on hand.
  24. Good morning! My blood sugar was at an acceptable level this morning, so I'll keep drinking water, walk later this morning. TravelingChris, I'm in SoCal, but my brother lives in Texas. He and his wife were able to get the Moderna, just had their 2nd round. I believe they qualified because of age, 60+ at the time. I qualified because they moved educators into a top tier, which makes me think they will attempt reopening soon. To do: post coursework continue work in spare room, get office space usable read (I am struggling with my current book To Sleep in a Sea of Stars). plan lunches/meals for the next few days laundry
