  2. I was pleasantly surprised to find the library open. I called to double check before going there. Pretty sure they will be closed starting Monday. Picked up three "new" novels, didn't want to spend extra time looking. Interesting note, though, that there were families filling bags with books from the children's section. Stocking up! Dh and I went out to an early dinner, came home, napped, watched one segment of a documentary America in Color, WPA segment. We'd never seen it before, really liked it. Dh and dd will watch something on Disney channel and I'll mess around on the laptop. Have a great evening...
  3. {{{Beth}}} Thank you for updating us...praying for you!
  4. Morning, all! What a week it has been! My school district was very prepared for all of this, but it was still stressful. We are closed until April 6. Dh and I got up early to go to grocery store but lines were around the parking lot, decided to go to Target instead. Stood in line for a half hour before they opened. Manager and security were very nice, gave everyone updates to what was in stock. Got in, got our stuff, check out was smooth. Don't plan on going out for something like that again. Dh was at Costco picking up stuff for my mom yesterday, fights broke out. A man tried steal a woman's grocery cart as she left the store. Grateful that there was a heavy police presence, took care of the situation. library to drop off books pick up reference materials work on grad school applications, order transcripts laundry, vacuum bedroom make sure dd creates a calendar for her assignments/due dates bbq steak for dinner, rolls, roasted veggies read, relax, Netflix Have a great day!
  5. Thanks, everyone! You are all awesome and appreciated so much...
  6. Hey, all...if you're the praying type, prayers would be appreciated. I know I haven't posted this week, but extenuating circumstances. Things have not gone well this past week. One of our students was hit by a drunk driver last weekend, is on life support. It has been a very, very heavy week at school. She was well liked, always a smiling, happy kid. The driver ran off, left his car, but police have not been able to find him. She is scheduled to be taken off sometime today, organ donations. She was four months away from graduation. Dd had an anxiety attack at school, triggered by what's going on at school, stepped outside play performance to get some air, (she was not performing that night) got yelled at by teacher for not being supportive of the cast. She called us in crisis mode, we called admin who sat with her... She feels very let down by her teacher. Apparently "anxiety isn't a real thing." She doesn't want us to go any further with this because it will result in her not being cast in any productions next year. Anyways...to be done if possible Full cleaning mode, so laundry, floors, bedding are on the schedule. Church, lunch out. Lesson planning for the week Get ready for our college trip to Northern California on Thursday
  7. When you first posted I thought "I wonder where I would start with AoPS...maybe Beast Academy?" I also went through the early grades in the late 60s, early 70s...only one answer and don't ask why. I also feel that I "missed something" when I started out. I used to be extremely math phobic, have improved a lot as I had professors in college that seemed to speak my language when it came to math. Keep posting your progress! I look forward to reading about it. You've got this!
  8. How can we be out of butter? I'm making a keto apple crisp for dessert...so off to the store I go, again. Snacks are packed for the week's lunches Kitchen is clean Will drop off donations to Goodwill on my way to get butter. I am actually putting in clothes that no longer fit...in a good way! 🙂

  10. I know what you mean about an increased level of feeling better, hard to describe. I've been doing this since January, had a big weight drop the first two weeks, nothing significant since then. I am also diabetic (late adult onset type 1) and take insulin. My numbers were great in the beginning, but have crept up slowly the past two weeks. My morning readings are not like they used to be when I first started. I'm also doing intermittent fasting, so I might have to adjust my times. Overall I feel better, have more energy. There were days I got extreme cravings but it passed. I don't have headaches like I used to. I will say it did affect my sleep pattern which is non-existent. I sleep for at least 5 hours straight before waking up which is an improvement. Also, in the beginning I was extremely cold all the time which maybe was keto flu? Not sure... If I think of more, I'll add.

  20. Dh and I were watching the game last night when Kobe's tweet about Le Bron moving up on the scoring list for the Lakers came on. Everyone at the bar was sharing Kobe stories. Then this morning, we were out and people were rushing around to one another sharing the news. It was just awful. Also, Orange Coast College's baseball coach, wife and daughter were onboard as well. Just tragic. Our prayers to family and friends...
