  1. She is 5, almost 6. I'm pretty sure I want to do RS. Just wish I could find it used.
  2. Is it just me or do they seem to be very similar? Is Singapore the same except it doesn't use an abacus? I haven't been able to take a look at the Singapore teacher book. Does it break down the lessons for you to teach? I saw the workbook and I felt like I would need more direction than just that. I have checked out the free sample lessons of RS and I like it, it's just pretty expensive. I want to use one of them, I just can't make up my mind... any suggestions or ideas? Pros and cons of the two? Thanks for your input.
  3. Does anyone know if the homeschool discount coop will have RS math at a discount next month for March math madness?
  4. I am driving myself crazy researching and shopping for a math curriculum for 1st grade. This is my first year homeschooling and I'm just overwhelmed by all the choices. I thought right start sounded awesome, but expensive. I don't like math u see. My daughter did saxon in public school kindergarten and loves it. She likes worksheets, but I don't feel like she's understanding the concept, just counting. We printed a few of the free math mammoth worksheets and I had to hold her hand all the way through, she didn't get it. I don't know what to do. It's bordering on obsessive! somebody please help me!!!
  5. I have decided to try Saxon 1 for my daughter. I would like to buy it used it possible. I find the saxon website somewhat confusing. I was wondering if someone could tell me what specific books/workbooks/misc. I need so I can piece it together. Or would it be smarter and easier to just buy it new as a package? Thanks so much!
