I'm sure this isn't proper "protocol" for a deacon's wife (to say I hate church :001_smile:), but I'm going to say it anyway. I can definitely identify w/the bolded. Only, in my case, it was my dad that left forever, not dh's dad. We have a great church and I try to be faithful in attending, but there are some days I choose not to go. I didn't go to church on Mother's day for years (my mom died very unexpectedly when I was in college).
I'm sorry about your difficult Father's Day. Today I made it through about 5 minutes of the sermon, went and cried in the bathroom, then went to McD for some lunch.
