  1. My 11th grader is interested in learning business this year because he's into skateboarding and wants to see about starting a business. Do you have any business curriculum ideas? I got one off Amazon by Carol Topp but not sure it's going to do the trick. Any suggestions are appreciated :)

  3. Does Fix-it-Grammar teach or is it for students who alread know and are just reviewing?
  4. Yeah, I feel like I've done all sorts of gramar workbooks but it's not sinking in
  5. I have 3 kids in 8th, 9th and 10th. 2 of which have ADHD and really struggle with learning. All 3 reallly need help with grammar and puctuation. I've tried Analytical Grammar and got through the 1 section of 3 ( I could still go back to this if it's really the only option). I've also tried Easy Grammar plus which was a bust. They really didn't remember anything when it came time for the test. Any thoughts?
  6. Yes, he could use help with the different forms of writing before we move to literature and history based. Would you have suggestions for writing across literature and history that could give her some structure to work off of. Like I said she's a great writer just needs direction.
  7. I'm looking for a writing program that would be easy to pull off long distance. I'm not good a writing but I have a daughter that lives out of state that writes beautifully. I'm looking for something that could guide her with some structure to teach my DS (10th grade). She can facetime and share a google docs for the writing assignments. Some of the books I've seen seem like it wouldn't work on the day to day assignments. Any suggestions?

  9. I didn't realize there was a book. I'll check it out. Thanks!
  10. My DS is finishing up 7th grade and TT pre-algebra. He's frustrated with TT since it seems teach so many ways of doing things and throws something in on the test that he's not sure. I'm thinking it's hard since there is no book so it requires him to totally take notes in order to refer back. I love TT, however haha. I'm terrible at Math and it teaches him and shows him solutions when he's not getting it. Therefore it's a great Math program for me. I'm wondering if a math which uses a book would be a better fit. Does anyone know anything about Jacobs or CLE for Algebra and beyond?
  11. I'm looking for around the 2nd grade level. My daughter is looking into homeschooling her kids in the future and currrently has them at home with the schools closing. She was hoping there were some free online games to help with Math. They don't use many electronics so math will be fun if they can practice online. I'm out of the loop for those grades so I figured there were many of you who could help. Thanks 🙂
  12. Accidentally put in the wrong place. Sorry
  13. This would be great! I like this style. Detailed recordkeeping is overwhelming me. I'm secretly hoping I don't need as much as alot of people say.
  14. First I want to thank you for such a detailed answer 🙂 You gave me alot to think about as well as eased my mind a little. I'll check out Right Start Math. I definitley need something that helps me with ideas because I'm not very good at math myself to come up with things. I think you are right in becoming friends with the numbers. At this point she sees no need therefore it won't make sense. Do you know if there is a Math that teaches to the daily usage instead of just pages of problems? MUS has very short lessons which is great but it would help if there were books that taught to every day life situations to help her "make friends" 🙂 Maybe Right Start does that. I'll go check it out.
  15. I have my first 9th grader and 2 more kids heading to high school the next 2 years. I'm trying to come up with a way to organize my student's coursework to save for recordkeeping of their high school work? I need to get my head wrapped around something that will be easy and do the trick. What do you do? How much do we need to save for records? Pics are welcome 🙂
  16. Yes, I definitely want her to handle money, balance a check book, and other basic living things. I'm not sure how to get her there or if there is a curriculum that just teaches the basics. Other than that I'm not sure what you are asking about high school plans. I'm planning on homeschooling through high school. I don't foresee college being in the plan.
  17. We struggle so much in Math. My DD is currently in 8th grade and struggles so much in Math. I just want to give her the vary basics for life. I need to be able to have enough Math for her to graduate but I'm not sure how to move forward. Currently we are at the beginning of Math U See Epsilon and she is struggling with adding more than one fraction with different denominators. Is this really needed in real life? I'm not sure I even need to add 3 fractions together. I just want to help her with what is actually needed, a way to get there and be done with Math 😞
  18. College is not realistic at this point. Things can change though 🙂
