:lurk5: Any more ideas ??

We are family of 5 , in Bay Area- CA, and have three free southwest airline tickets. Kids ages(9,7,4). We are thinking of going for a 3-4 days of vacation some place, but not sure where... Kids have already been to Disneyland, sea world in CA..so not sure if fllying to Florida just for that is worth it ? Do you suggest any other interesting places to visit. Planning to go around thankgiving time..Please advice! I prefer Warm places, and wish if Southwest went to Hawaii !!

So, Finally the books arrived. The books are in nice hard cover binding (A and B combined) AT almost 50% off, its a good deal. Books are in new condition :001_smile:

We have this at our school almost twice a year. In Sep. Teacher and Parents ( and kids for higher grades) meet to set academic and behavioral goals for the child. You will basically tell the teacher what your concerns are ( if your child is bright/gifted ) or has any other challenges. This is the time you can utilise to undertsand what the teacher's teaching policy is , what are her expectation from her students etc..

The seller is some School in Austin, selling their Library copies and they are sold out on level 5 and 6 currently. I am hoping they will be in new condition.

Just wanted to let the hive know , that I just ordered Singapore standard editions books( all levels) A and B ( combined) selling for $14.99 !! I hope this was a steal deal !

Hello Hive, Need your thoughtful advice, My son (7) is in PS grade 2, and we just afterschool . He is good in Maths overall, we used CLE last year and he is already done with LUs 200 and always scored 100 % on CLE Tests, I want to provide him something more challenging than CLE, so we gave him SIngapore placement, He scored 85 in 2a and 87 in 2b. I am not abl eto decide if he should start with 2a and 2b or start with 3a and 3b in singapore. The problems he mainly missed were word problems in the placement test. PLease advice, as we have PLENTY o ftime after school that can be utilised in learning further.

Please, can anyone share how you are getting this 4 for 3 deal on amazon... I dont see this advertised anywhere on amazon..

I would say Burlingame/Foster city is the place for them. Very good schools and quiet close to Airport ( 15- 20 mints) San Carlos is also close by, but they would have to confirm for the Public school ratings.

Cupertino/palo alto has best schools, but there is a tough competition among kids, as majority population is asians.. I am not sure about the schools for kids with learning disabilities.. Did they look at San Ramon school district or Burlingame schools, they are good too, but with healthy comeptition.

My DS in in 3rd grade at PS, he has been just introduced to divisions, not long division though..LIke 18/9 =2, 16/4=4 Hope that helps.

LOL, Being Indian, it felt very funny how you perceived their behaviour. Their beahviour was completely natural, Females make/serve the food, while males and guests enjoy it. Next time we have some Amerian friends I will make sure we behave in western way:)
