  1. RSO is coming out with Astronomy 2 on Aug. 21st. There isn't much info out yet, but I guess they are hoping to have a supply list available next week.

  7. My son prefers to learn/study history by watching documentaries, making lapbooks, and other hands on projects. A favorite around here are Homeschool in the Woods Time Travelers.
  8. I just saw that Onenote now allows users to insert videos! Thought there may be others here who would appreciate this new feature ;) This will come in handy when I'm planning for next year!

  11. My daughter loves her tablet and has tried a few different softwares and the one she prefers is Paint Tool SAI. She has found a number of tutorials on YouTube to follow.

  14. Those are great! She definitely has a talent :) Is this something that she may be interested in as a career? Maybe looking and contacting various Special Effects schools/colleges may help with ideas on how to continue to develop her skills. Douglas is one that my adult son had considered. When we spoke with them they were very helpful.

  16. If you are interested in US geography, I recently saw this State Study over at Wee Folk Art. Looks really nice and gentle.
  17. I am trying to pull together the same thing. A couple places that I have found useful resources are Eclectic Homeschool's CPO Physical Science plan and Guest Hollow's Physics - both the 7th grade and the younger kids physics. I'm thinking that I may use Mr.Q for a spine and add in some Bite Size Physics & living books. I haven't totally planned it out, so I will definitely be watching this thread.

  20. My son and I actually went to an open house today, and that group was associated with 4H...so that may be another place to look for a group.
  21. I have GEMS Life Through Time sitting on the shelf. It looks pretty good and hope to pull it out for a fun unit study next year. Possibly with Voyages Through Time.

  24. I think this is what we are doing for 9th grade. TT Geometry World History 1 using Our Human Story Marine Biology OM Hero's Journey Lit & Comp with some BW added in Some .5 credits she would like to add in are: Photography Special Effects Fashion through the Ages American Civil War
