  1. Any tried and true home remedies for a sore throat that I can do while 29 wks pregnant? It is just starting to itch and feel yucky! I also have horrible allergies that only rear their ugly head when I'm pregnant and I have been managing them with Zyrtec and chlortrimeton. Have I mentioned that I loathe having a sore throat?!?
  2. :iagree: I do agree with this also...I just think in some situations schools apply "zero tolerance" without being at all reasonable. Kids are no longer allowed to mess up or make a mistake. If they do they are often sent out to "alternative school" without a second thought.
  3. Yet another reason public school stinks! They don't seem to have usable brain cells. Zero tolerance has poisoned their brains!
  4. I live in upstate SC and the weather is downright hot in the summer and this winter has been relatively mild although last winter was pretty cold with unusual amounts of snowfall for his area. The particular area I live in is considered rural and is mostly quiet. Some areas in the upstate particularly Spartanburg have high crime rates (I would never live there). Greenville is a larger city with a zoo, children's museum, art museum, large library and decent shopping. We have low sales tax, low property taxes, and lower gas prices. The schools are not great which why I have chosen to homeschool! If I had the choice though I would like to live in TN for a while! I think it's beautiful and we love to vacation there!
  5. We don't usually do gifts for each other...just a card and we sometimes go out to eat a few days before. We also don't do anniversary gifts either...
  6. I use chlortrimeton for a runny nose and it doesn't make me sleepy!
  7. IDK personally but my parents made an arrangement one time where the IRS just kept their refund til it was paid off. In this instance though they usually got a refund every year but this particular year my mom received an inheritance which she had to pay taxes on and their accountant misled them and they didn't realize it til the money was used.
  8. Please help me find one! I had a paper one like you would find on a bulletin board and I hated it! I ripped it down and put it in the trash so now I need another one. Can you link me to one that you have and really like?
  9. I agree with pp, these kids had to see or learn it somewhere. 5 yo's don't normally engage in that sort of thing when unsupervised. Someone somewhere has some explaining to do...big time. This is one of the many reasons I have decided to homeschool. I just can't leave my 5 yo somewhere and something like this happen. I. Just. Can't. His biggest concer right now is race cars and reading lessons and I would like to keep it that way!
  10. Name the countries that border the US..."uhhhhh Candada, no wait that's a state, nevermind". Sad. Just plain sad.
  11. :iagree: I have the same one...I got it for 99 bucks and it is awesome!
  12. I wondered the same thing...I don't believe they said whether she did or not. 15lbs!! That's a toddler :D
  13. http://gma.yahoo.com/video/parenting-26594265/woman-delivers-nearly-14-pound-baby-28105614.html Woman delivers 14lb baby naturally...no epidural! :svengo:
  14. I am 27wks pregnant today and I swear I cannot catch my breath. LO is in the frank breech position and I feel like his head is squishing my lungs out. Oh and don't get me started on the swollen feet and inability to bend over and pick anything up out of the floor! :glare: Only 13 wks to go...12 if I'm lucky :tongue_smilie:.
  15. In the back of a toy truck, shoved down between the mattress and headboard, behind the toilet, in the back of a drawer, or possibly left at Disney world :) We did that on once and thankfully they fedexed it back to us...the darn thing almost beat us home!
  16. It's the creamery and as far as I know it is still there! They used to make their own blue cheese everyone raved about but I can't attest to that as I can't stand blue cheese :)
  17. Botanical gardens in Clemson are nice but most stuff is dormant right now, however lots of people still go. There are a few shops in Clemson but nothing too interesting that I know of. You would have to travel to Anderson or Greenville for any decent shops.
