  1. Another Paypal user here. I use it quite often for buying and selling. We've been using it for years and never had any problems.
  2. Winston Grammar doesn't use diagramming either. My kids used Abeka for a couple of years and hated the diagramming. This is one reason we switched to Winston.
  3. It must have been a glitch unless they posted from an old post before the 50 post minimum was put into place. I tried to post just to see what happened and it still won't let me since I only have 47 posts...I'm almost there!
  4. It really doesn't bother me if kids are in church as long as I can hear the pastor and the kids aren't totally distracting. Can you imagine a child sitting in front of you that has turned around and starting making faces or doing silly things...that's distracting. :biggrinjester:
  5. Definitely spring! The trees start getting their leaves again, flowers are everywhere, less rain, and warmer days.
  6. We got our first pet this past February...:hurray: He's so adorable and is as soft as a rabbit! His name is Toby and he's a Havanese and was born on Christmas day last year.
  7. Another thumb up  for the Yamaha Clavinova. It was recommended by our first piano teacher and we have been very pleased with our purchase. The kids seem to do fine going from our digital piano to the regular piano used by the teacher. Plus, they enjoy listening to the 50 prerecorded classics.
  8. Hi Brittney, There have been other discussions about this topic. If you do a search in this forum using the word "filter" then you'll find quite a few people have the same interest in finding out what is best. I think most filters allow you to tailor the blocking to fit your own needs. I hope this helps. Julie :)
  9. I'd love to have a Bosch Universal Plus Mixer and a Zojirushi X20 Breadmaker. We love homemade breads. :thumbup1: Julie
  10. We were using SafeEyes and it worked great. Recently we upgrade our system to Windows Vista 64-bit which is not compatible with SafeEyes. I tried to use K9, but it won't work with Vista 64-bit either. We ended up using Norton's Add-on Pack Parental Control. It seems to be working ok. Julie
  11. hubby is making Seattle Smoked Salmon...it's the best! :D
  12. We started with K and are just finishing up our 6th year of homeschooling. Time does fly! Julie
  13. Just an FYI... We installed K-9 but found out it doesn't work if you are using Windows Vista 64-bit operating system. We ended up using Norton's Add-on pack with parental controls. Julie
  14. We are blessed to have a library 2 minutes from our house, so that is our main source for books. To make life easier I just put whatever I need on hold then pick it up when it's ready. We usually have 10-20 books checked out at any given time. Occasionally we'll buy a book if it's really good. Julie :001_smile:
  15. My kids (8 & 11) love Nature Friend published by Dogwood Ridge Outdoors. They're always trying to get their drawings into the magazine. Julie :)
  16. My favorite is DaySpring: http://www.dayspring.com/ecards/index.asp Julie :001_smile:
  17. I didn't start the thread but I'm glad I found it. I'll definately have to check out K-9 once our Safe Eyes expires!!! Why pay when you don't have to... Julie
  18. I want to thank all of you that have shared about your experience with IEW. This is a program I've considered the last couple of years but have been reluctant to buy because of the price. My daughter (5th grade) really struggles with writing, so maybe it's time to break down and buy the program. I'm still torn between TWSS and SWI. I'll need to do a little more research before jumping in. Julie :001_smile:
  19. We use Safe Eyes. It protects up to 3 computers for $49.95 a year. Here's their website if you want to check it out... http://www.internetsafety.com/safe-eyes/ Julie
  20. We'd like to see it, but will probably wait until it's out on DVD. Julie :001_smile:
  21. :hurray: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! My girls and I will eat some cookies to celebrate with you! Julie
  22. I, too, am working on reaching the magic number of posts. I usually just lurk, but I guess I'll have to start joining in the conversations. Julie
