  1. I have an older copy of WTM that recommends Power Glide for French which it seems is out of print. I'm looking for a self guided curriculum for my 6th grade daughter. What would you recommend?

  3. Thanks for the replies. My plan was to follow the WTM program and use the history Encyclopedia and maybe add in Old Test. events (which seems overwhelming to plan out). But now I am considering some of the curricula choices you listed above. Dang. Now I don't know which route to choose.
  4. Does the Human Odyssey Series cover Old Testament events? I notice CBD carries it so I thought it might have biblical events as well.
  5. We have done SOTW the past 4 years for 1st through 4th grade and loved it. I do feel like I am jumping off a cliff a bit with just using a history encyclopedia next year. We own The Kingfisher Illustrated History of the World but this is not one recommended in WTM. Does anyone know why? Is there a reason I should purchase one of the ones recommended in WTM instead of just using the kingfisher that I have?
  6. I'm having a hard time choosing which aologia science to use next year too! I'd love to hear a few replies.
  7. I have no papers for homeschooling, no student IDs or an educator ID. Where do you get these things? Our state does not require any of these things. Thank you for all the tips. Our original plan was to go to Disneyland this fall so discounts or not CW will be WAY cheaper lol! I'm just curious if the extra programs are worth it to go during homeschool days.
  8. What paperwork did they require? I have been homeschooling for years but I have no official documents. My state doesn't require any.
  9. We are planning to visit CW this fall since it correlates with the time period DD9 will be studying. I just realized that they will have home school days the month before we were thinking about going. We have not booked anything yet so it would be easy to change our dates with one exception. Going a month later would make it much easier on my husband's work schedule. He can make it work for the home school dates but it may be a bit more stressful for him. Are home school days at CW worth it or should we stick with our original dates? What special things do they offer during home school day?
  10. Each year I like to read biographies, historical accounts, and even historical fiction pertaining to the time period DD8 is studying. We will begin SOTW III with a heavy emphasis on American history and a unit on Native American history. What adult books have you enjoyed from or about this time period?
  11. Does anyone use a georaphy curriculum with SOTW III or additional maps? We didn't last year but my daughter is really into so I would like to this year.
  12. We are doing SOTW III next year with DD8 and per WTM's reccomendations I looked up Blackline Maps to accompany our history. But Knowledge Quest's website says the Blackline Maps, World History are out of print. When looking at other options on their site I become overwhelmed because I am just not that familar with their products. What do you use? I am looking for something to reinforce the geography we are studying in history. Should I just buy Blackline Maps, American History? Or is there are another Knowledge Quest product that would be more appropriate? We will add a lot or US history into our study next year but we won't be ignoring world history either. Or should I consider Veritas Press geography program, Legends and Leagues? TIA!
  13. Has anybody read these? I don't want to buy them for DD8 if they are poorly written. TIA!
  14. What is Texas Sampler? I found a variety of things on amazon.
