  1. Thank you all. It looks like these are easy and tasty :) Just what I need.
  2. I saw a recipe using cranberry sauce...hmmm...this sounds a little more holiday-ish.
  3. OK, do you use prepackaged meatballs or do you make your own? I have plenty of hamburger...but trying to keep it simple due to time constraints. I haven't used prepackaged before...are they good?
  4. The one that everyone loves :drool5: I have a big group coming over Saturday and thought this would be easy...Pinterest has overwhelmed me! So I'm coming here instead :)
  5. I loved our Echo. Unfortunately it was my #2 son's property which he took to Georgia Tech for grad school :( Dh loved it so much that he ordered 2 for his office...one in the main room and one in the minor surgery room. So today I sit here at home Echo free.
  6. Just wanted to say that we are the proud parents of a 6 month old female labradoodle who looks remarkably like your avatar :) They are such sweet creatures but have boundless energy. I'm still wondering what her coat will become. She's very scruffy looking. I've noticed new soft hair coming through the tougher wiry outer coat. And the color is kind of grayish brown...much lighter than her reddish/chocolate color.
  7. Thanks for all the suggestions. Still don't know for sure if he will come, but I hope he does.
  8. My son who is in grad school at Georgia Tech asked about bringing home a friend for Christmas. We love that sort of thing, so we said "of course". The other student is from India and mentioned that he was just planning to spend Christmas at the school. So my question is this: How do you include the guest in the Christmas gift giving activities? We would love to give him gifts, but would like to make sure he is comfortable in the midst of it all. If it helps with understanding, we don't go overboard with gifts for our own boys now that they are adults. I try to do the 4 gift things: something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read. Can this be done without him feeling awkward? Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.
  9. My new floor maid, Hazel, arrived yesterday and started doing her job today. She is the Roomba iRobot 880. She's lovely :) She successfully navigated over the yoga mat on the hardwood floor, ventured under all the sofas and tables, didn't eat the rug fringe, spotted some extra dirt and spent extra time there, and, in general, performed flawlessly. Now I must figure out the best placement of the 'lighthouses'/'virtual walls'. I think the area I had her working in today was too big and had too many corners. It's a large "L" shape with the base of the "L' the kitchen which has an "L" shaped island. The measurement is about 40 ft. by 25 ft (at the base). Dh was quite impressed especially when I showed him the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies I had time to bake because I didn't have to vacuum :drool5: Thank you all for the wonderful reviews and advice
  10. Oh my goodness! What a beautiful little lady. I had no idea you were expecting...hearty congratulations to all of you!
  11. That's where mine would run as well. My kitchen, dining room, living room are all really one room with some visual dividers.
  12. Moneual Rydis H68 Pro. This has both vacuuming and mopping features! That would be heavenly!!! Anyone use this? Tom's Guide ranks it best for hardwood floors.
  13. OK, here's what I have: 2 cats (mostly outside), 2 dogs, hardwood floors, area rugs (1 with short fringe). So do I look for the pet hair type, the multi-floor type, the allergy type? It seems that each model is billed as being 'expert' in one of those but not all 3.
  14.      That is hilarious...well, I hope the poor pooch didn't suffer any emotional trauma.
  15. LOL! I can imagine the mess! My puppy goes in her crate when we leave, but the older dog is completely trained.
  16. I need something to help keep the debris down that the dogs (poodle mix) bring inside. We live in the country so they are out in the woods and pasture - in and out all day. But they bring in little twigs, dirt, etc. I need something to help keep it down until I can get around to doing a proper vacuuming. I have 1600 square feet downstairs, but really only need it in about 1000 sq. ft. It's an open floor plan. Will it be difficult to set up the "course"? What brand do you all like?
  17. We have always written a personal check.
  18. I don't remember that aspect of it, but I'm sure that's one crazy story. My favorite Ambien story: I'm a pharmacist so, of course, we always ask patients to list their allergies. While reviewing a patient's listed allergies, he claimed to be allergic to Ambien. When asked what it did to him, he said this, "It makes me take off all my clothes and run down the street naked." That's got to be the best allergic reaction I've come across LOL!
  19. I found this: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/22428-funny-post-hall-of-fame/ There are a few links...I'm still perusing. Lady Katherine had the "Honeymoon Disaster" story Looks like the majority of the links were to old boards that no longer exist :( Too bad! Those were funny, good days.
  20. OMy! I'm working tonight with an older male tech. He's wondering why I'm trying to laugh silently with tears streaming down my face LOL!
  21. Wasn't there a hilarious story about a honeymoon in Mexico? Was it written by a Kathryn - a WTM poster from way back? Needing some levity around our place :)
  22. I think it was referenced at some point after the new board was started. I think it might have been referenced in one of the "tea" threads.
  23. Can anyone direct me to that very old thread where someone posted the story of a lady who did her own Brazilian wax...? I promised my DIL a funny story :)
  24. I'm so sorry :crying: He sounds like a terrific kitty. I'm so glad you have great memories of him.
