  1. :iagree: I got the email that 2017-2018 will be the last time for the group $49 semesters. If anyone is going to buy them, please post or let me know. I would be interested in buying some classes too. Thanks!
  2. Look in the back section of the lab book. I don't have ours in front of me, but there are different sections and one of them includes answers. HTH.
  3. Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler. I make this a lot. Easy. Uses fruit. Easy. Delicious. I always have guests asking for the recipe. Did I mention it was easy? ;)
  4. I appreciate the discussions and connections that ToG brings. I have All Through the Ages and it is a great resource for Alternatives to ToG , but I would not replace it. We are doing Y3 and ds is in the 7th grade though, so I am preparing for high school.
  5. My sensory son things his seat is 'ok' but prefers to use a Yoga Ball. Yep. He can bounce when he needs to , or roll a little while working at the desk. It works, and was cheap. :001_rolleyes:
  6. :iagree: This is where I was. I *love* IEW, but ds13 hates it, and the videos. He was a reluctant writer, but EIW works well for him/us.
  7. :iagree: For us, this is a great program for my reluctant 12yo writer. We do add a few freewrites during the week and have added Bravewriter's online classes to our writing as well. But, for a daily, manageable writing program EIW fits well for us.
  8. :iagree: It was the tool that showed my son that he does have something to say, and can write. We got the books, but the online classes and him receiving positive feedback from someone else was what really helped him to want to write.
  9. Landry Academy! :hurray: http://landryacademy.com/live-classes/
  10. :iagree: Bravewriter fans here.... and their online classes have worked well too. Getting positive feedback and suggestions from someone other than 'mom' worked wonders.
  11. We are getting ready to start our second class with Brave Writer next week. :hurray:
  12. We are in Japan - just moved here last June. We should be here 5 years. I bought, and returned, a few different programs but am now using Human Japanese with my 12yo. It has been great! I appreciate that it includes a lot of the history of the language. It also let's you 'click' on the Japanese word to hear the correct pronunciation, and it is very affordable. This may not be what you are looking for, but we need to learn to read and speak it while living here. :-)
  13. How do you and your son like Latin Alive so far? I am looking at it and considering ordering the full package. Thanks!
  14. I received the book as a birthday gift. I cannot put it down! I saw this and thought it was worth sharing too. ;)
  15. Here is the link for the sale: http://www.eequalsmcq.com/HolidaySale2015.htm?utm_source=Classic+Science+Holiday+Sale+starts+tomorrow&utm_campaign=LabNotes+Holiday+Sale+2015&utm_medium=email
  16. My reluctant reader would not put down the Minecraft novel, Minecraft: A Quest for Justice. He also really liked that the author was 16 when he finished this novel. :hurray: I am now waiting for the 2nd in the series so I can order it for him.
  17. Agreeing with everything already said. My 12yo is a very reluctant writer, but is now finding that he *can* enjoy it. I have read and reread The Writer's Jungle (BraveWriter) and it has helped tremendously. Understanding where he was in the writing phase and how to 'give him a voice' helped us both. Taking it slow and finding positive things about what he has written (holding back from correcting everything) helped us both. We both enjoy writing now. Good luck!
  18. Just adding that we have started with TOG and *love* the flexibility & discussions. I *really* appreciate the teachers notes. We use their recommended core books but pick and choose the extras. I also want to add that their staff is superb. They are very helpful with questions, recommendations and have even gone through the book list with me. :-)
  19. :iagree: We went to ToG as well and really like it. The discussions are wonderful, and I appreciate the Teacher's Notes.
  20. We started with GSWL, then moved into VL1. My son really likes the instructor and looks forward to the latin lessons.
  21. Just emailed about having a printed copy mailed to me. :hurray: We are currently stationed in Japan with dh's job on a Naval base. Please?!
