  1. I get crocodile feet too, but the dry cracked skin on your toes gives me pause. It really may be fungal. My heels are ugly as heck, but it never goes to my toes. Sometimes my heels crack and that is so painful that I'm hobbling around. I bought an 8 dollar foot rasp (Microplane brand) on Amazon and its exactly what I needed. It gets rid of the dead skin so that the lotion can penetrate. The trick is to use it regularly and to not wait until a dremel sander (OMG!) is necessary. So maybe once every week or two weeks? I tried the socks and lotions and I really don't like how that feels at all.
  2. I don't fully understand your dd's limitations, but what about a pre-school teacher or helper? The pay will likely not be great, but maybe she can get benefits?
  3. I've just started using Stubhub. I haven't had a problem at all.
  4. Krusteaz. I actually don't like pancakes, but the rest of my family like Krusteaz. They sell this huge huge bag at Costo for very little money.
  5. I'm sorry that you have been struggling with your health. ? I'm not part of the club and I'm a huge PC fan, but I don't use her sunscreens. Don't get me wrong. I've tried and used several of them and love all of them in fact. I just can't afford to go through a tube every month. I apply sunscreen very liberally and it was getting expensive. I looked on her recommendation and found Kiss My Face, Face Factor 30. I've been using that for at least 5 years now and it is a very close second to PC sunscreens. It's moisturizing so I can forgo a moisturizer in the AM. I use about 2-3 pea size blobs for my face and down my neck.
  6. xfinity. That's surprising. Each time I have called to lower my rate, they've obliged. Of course, I ask within reason.
  7. I suggest that you call them and ask for a better deal. The cable companies will usually do it quite readily since there is so much competition these days. I have 200Mbps for $50.
  8. We drink a beer or a few glasses of wine a few times a week. I have a friend who's a sommelier and they drink quite a bit. They have a wine fridge that covers the wall and is larger than two or three of my regular refrigerator and judging by their collection, I would be surprised if they didn't spend 5 figures worth of wine each year.
  9. Science credits do expire after five years, but I don't believe that other credits do. If you do go back to school, I suggest figuring a way to do it without taking any debt on.
  10. Hmm.. I never really noticed because I find myself sticking my hand out first. I will usually look men straight in the eye, smile, and stick my hand out. I don't give them a chance to overlook me. haha.
  11. I would start with things that you know you will never "need" again. This might include baby clothes, toys, homeschool books or maybe books in general, old magazines, your clothes and maybe your husband's clothes. It's important to be patient and know that it's not going to be done overnight. It will take some time and you may even find yourself going over the same things over and over again. One important thing to remember that while you are culling your stuff, don't bring more stuff in!
  12. Locally, concerns about the public water has been in the news. While my local water company insists that our water is still safe, I've been feeling uneasy. I know that Berkey water filters are known to be one of the best and I was looking at them, but they take up so much space and I don't want to bother to clean the cistern. Are there any under the sink water filters that have the reputation of Berkey?
  13. Since my friend has an account and she's given me a lot of products to try, I'll tell you what I've liked. I can't speak to it being natural though. Again like I mentioned before, I'm skeptical of the term and upon reading the labels there were still a lot of words I couldn't figure out. Laundry detergent (it's super concentrated so you will need to buy the pump separately), dishwasher detergent, shampoos are nice ( but I'm not picky), I like their liquid hand soap. I just tried their Tub and Tile a few hours ago and I had the redo some mildew areas with bleach. So the Tub and Tile won't work with mildew. I like their glass cleaner. I believe most of their cleaners are concentrates so you'll need to get the empty refillable bottles.
  14. They have some decent products, but so do a lot of other regular companies. I believe that if you buy into their company, you're required to purchase a minimum every month. I have a close friend that does Meleluca, but because I only want a few things very occasionally allows me to use her account to buy them. Their detergent is very good. I know that people rave about their Renew line, but my kids dislike the fragrance. It also uses petroleum which I thought goes against their idea of "natural" products. Their sales people usually insist that their products are "natural" but what does that mean anyway? I guess petroleum is natural if you think about it.
  15. I've noticed similar problems when I started exercising, so I think that it's normal. At first I gained a few pounds, then after about a month or six weeks, the extra weight plus a few additional pounds just quickly fell off. I'm not sure what the cause is, but it may be extra water weight.
  16. A clean clean house will make a world of difference to a buyer. It gives a sense that a home was well cared for and maintained. Enlist everyone in your family to do the cleaning. I would focus on the kitchen and the bathrooms, but also clean the walls and baseboard all over the house. If you have pets, do what you can to remove the pet smells.
  17. Your cabinets look good so I wouldn't paint them. I have painted my cabinets in my previous home and it was a pain. They look great for a while, but you will probably need to do touch ups. it's hard to do good touch us with cabinets that have a few coats of paint.
  18. It goes both ways for us. I can help my parents as they age and its not burdensome because I don't need to set aside a whole day to see them. They can also help me by watching my kids and helping me with my garden (they have green thumbs and my thumbs are black). It's a win win all around.
  19. That's wonderful! It's great that there were willing to see their own future and make plans accordingly. My parents moved closer to me and they have loved being able to see their grandkids whenever they want. They can drop by for a cup of coffee and to hang out. There is no need to plan long extended trips for either of us.
  20. I think that I would call the police and ask what would have happened if she had been reported or pulled over at the time. This could have been enough for a steep fine or more. I would use that as leverage when speaking to mom about perhaps taking the driver license. I'm absolutely dreading doing this to my mom. It was pretty easy for my dad to give it up because my mom still drives. However, the day that my mom stops driving, I don't even want to think about it. She proudly tells my kids (repeatedly) about how she started driving.
  21. I'm sorry for everyone involved. Aging and cancer is an endless black hole. I can understand why you feel terribly about the situation, but if everything that you wrote is really how it is, you've done everything that you can.
  22. My dd's first phone was an older model iPhone. Through At&T I purchased a prepaid plan that would allow only talk and text. THrough the parental controls I removed everything (APP store, Safari, TV,etc) except for a few simple games. She was able to access Wifi.
